"Let there be GREATNESS!"

I was setting up my entertainment center in my new place and and idea dawned on me. It was an idea unlike any that has ever been dreamed of by the human mind. Slowly, this idea took shape and my rational mind alternated between horror and delight as it weighed the possibility of making the idea a reality. Could it be done? Certainly, if it were as simple as I suspected, any number of people would have done it years ago. But perhaps, in it's very simplicity, it had gone unnoticed by the rest of humanity. It could be done. But should it be done? What would the ethical ramifications be? Is it worth risking? "YES!" Dammit, it must be done!

What a task! Cords connected from one piece of machinery to another. Black components on to of black components on top of a black structure that I'd constructed with only my bare hands and a borrowed set of exactly the right tools slowly took the shape that my mind's eye had dared to imagine! Slowly the various cords were anchored to their respective places of attachment. A power strip was anchored to the wall behind it like the umbilical chord to the technical monstrocity that I had given form! All that remained was the power.

THE POWER!!!

A switch was thrown, then another, and another, and yet another. Had my vision been realized? Had everything come together into a gestalt of technology? Would I be forgiven for my sins against man and machine alike? YES!

Everything worked exactly as I had imagined. All the machines, the stereo system, the television, and a computer combined into one multi-screened entertainment center easily accessable from BED! I can watch television while surfing the 'net while listening to music without ever leaving my bed! Truly, it is a sight to behold!
