Fairly readable article at Time's website - comes out pretty much in favour:One of my favourite books makes it to film translation. interesting.

Warning - may contain spoilers and other animals (Lions, Minotaurs, etc).
I thought that was brilliant when I heard about it. I'm considering boycotting any new movie where some American is faking an English accent because of that.
Grrr. Argh.

Vaguely related to dark-coloured cooking containers are we.
Well, that quiets a couple of worries- did figure they'd cut out a lot of the early stuff, and a dance scene sounds lovely.

I thought it was funny that they cast Chinese actresses in the first place. "Oh, they're Asian and well-known, we'll use them!" Absolutely no sensitivity to the possibility that it may cause cultural snafus, or maybe a vague hope that it wouldn't... but really, they had to have known that someone would make a fuss about it at some point. At the same time I see the other side of it, and it's just... incredibly stupid. From my POV, anyway. They obviously don't think so.

People and their thought processes just make me not want to be one sometimes, I swear. I want to be an otter or something. Just float around on my back and eat crayfish all day. But then I wouldn't get to see the movie.

Unless you're Tarka. I should imagine he's managed to rack up a few quid over the years, and probably has some studio connections who could arrange a private screening or something.saysadie wrote:

She's coming over to talk in a bit, so if you hear raised voices, don't worry.Pissin' Poonani wrote:You ok mate?Metal Vendetta wrote:I think we kinda broke up tonight, so I'ma go and see it anyway. Rob - hope all goes well, buddy.
And, for the record, my kettle is white and my pots are silver. I've never understood that saying...
