Was watching Buffy last night, the one where Anya flashes back to the musical episode and she sings about how much she is in love with Xander, then it cuts back and she's got a sword through her chest.
Great stuff.
Great stuff.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

Schindler's list is one of the two most emotional films I've ever seem (the other being The Passion of the Christ - but I'm a Christian so you'd expect me to say that). The scene at the end where it goes from black and white to colour was the moment that most got me.Best First wrote:Shindler's list - the outburst at the end about saving more

In a strange sense, the start of Saving Private Ryan chokes me a bit.
The idea these guys got off boats, got slaughtered, and carried on amazes me no end. considering at Omaha the Yanks took 90% casultys on the first wave, im always at ends that these young men went in on the 2nd wave.
To this day I have so much respect for war veterans, and d-day vets, I think what they did in the face of such horrifying adversity is breath taking.
Makes me almost cry thinking about it.
Finding never land - jesus I cried like a baby at the end.
Man United 'The trebel' - oh to be great again!

Tombstone - Doc and Wyatt at the hospital
Rocky IV - Rocky's speech at the end of the fight
Ladder 49 - "Get them out of here, it's too late for me."
Forest Gump - When he talks to Jenny over her grave
Armageddon - Yeah, it's cheesy, but when Bruce throws Ben back on the lift I get a little choked up.
The only one that didn't tug on the old heart strings was Rocky, but it's still a damn fine moment. Oh, and Platoon when Elias is running out of the jungle. I have the poster with him on his knees with his hands up. Great stuff.

Strange that no-one mentioned the death of Optimus in the movie... I cried as kid...
-Batman Beyond - Meltdown. Mr Freeze's death and final words ("You're the only one who cares") are so touching, just like Bruce admitting in the end that he was wrong about Freeze.
-Boromir's death from LOTR.
-Star Wars - VI. - Death of Darth Vader... every time I rewatch-it, I'm always touched.
Heck, can't think of more at the moment... though I'm sure I know more.

I didn't see it until I was in my teens in the early 90s. By which point I knew it was coming and I'd seen it done way more effectively in the comic.BB Shockwave wrote:Strange that no-one mentioned the death of Optimus in the movie... I cried as kid...

I'll have to rewatch it. Can't remember what it was (or even if it's the same in both versions). Was it soundtrack or score?spiderfrommars wrote:And that music playing in the cinema when he talks to Frank is devastating.Rebis wrote:

I think Enemy Mine is also quality. The whole thing about chalk and cheese outsiders becoming best mates is great - hence Midnight Cowboy as well - just makes it all the more emotional when it goes tits up.
Shawshank - The Red Herring about Andy's death and the subsequent moments leading to the end in Shawshank - pure elation!
Same for Truman show - some **** uses the elements to kill you but you overcome everything to survive, to find out you're stuck in a goldfish bowl - but there's a door out!
Infact, I just love that movie - the bit in his basement when he's making his picture of Silvia is very moving as well.

I didn't like how Crash told you "Hehe you are a moron so I'll just shove this most obvious thing right in your face"; when we get an extreme close up of the ammo box that says "Blanks".Brendocon wrote:Most of Crash. The 2004 one, not the kinky car wreck one.
Somehow, I figured that out myself.

Another vote for the end of Leon, which is unbelievably touching.
I actually cried like a baby while watching Lost recently as well (season 2 episode "Collision").
The Crow - somewhat melodramatic, but the flashback scenes when he touches the ring always give me a shiver.
The bit in Deep Impact when they say "take the baby!"...dammit, welling up just thinking about that one.
