Best is dead.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Obey him, or die.

I Googled 'Brendocon'. Your profile is the number one hit.

Tragic for many reasons.

A true Brit Boy that. :o

If you're gonna have that mucho skill, you gotta do the party too.

He seems to have done some fantastic things in his youth, wich ultimately did give him an exciting life. He was not dull, like me.

I've little sympathy, he took a liver that could have been used to save someone's life, and pissed it away. Now he's exhausted that borrowed time.

Pat Morita is a sadder loss if you ask me, now we'll never have any more Karate Kid sequels

Thank you for posting that, Spider. When I saw the link, I thought he was talking about Best First. Wondered why people were taking it so lightly....

and then today, maybe its all the emotions, it hit me, hes gone...

I know he had a chance, and I know he was foolish, but I think he was ill.

RIP Besty - Old Trafford thanks you and salutes you.

Best says he wants ppl to take word of what killed him, and to be happy, this made me smile.

the doctor tells Best the bad news,

"George, the bad news is you only have an hour to live!"

"The good news is, its happy hour!"

Genetic predisposition towards addiction. And plenty of time to decide not to go down that road. Good for him that he wanted people to learn by his mistakes, but I still don't have a great deal of sympathy...

To be fair, once you've become an alcoholic, you're an alcoholic for life (well, barring divine intervention, anyway). It is possible for an alcoholic to go sober, but once they start drinking even a little bit of alcohol, they're back to the state they were in before they started being a sober alcoholic. So it was a lot more diffiucult for him than those of us who aren't addicted might think.
