What new laws would you like to see? if any?
Perosnally (today) i want to see:
a) stricter laws on packaging to reduce waste
b) stricter (again) laws on information provided on food labels, i want to know whati am eating, where it is from and how it was made in terms that actually mean something
c) stricter (uh-huh) laws on pollution so that there is a level playing field for companies that do want to operate in a more environmentally friendly fashion.
and i don't buy all this nanny state crap. what use are governments if they can't interfere?
discuss. or obvioulsy feel free not to.

I want to see guns (or, at the very least, handguns) removed from my country. There were over 14,000 murders in the US last year. Anybody who thinks that guns aren't a huge factor in the obscenely high murder rate is off his nut!
Don't give me any crap about "The right to bare arms," either. Putting aside the fact that "the right to bare arms" is only the first half of the sentence (the other part being "for the purposes of maintaining a militia.") You want to arm yourself? Fine. Get a taser. Get a knife. Get a big f'n stick. Nowhere in the constitution does it guarantee the right to bare FIREarms!
Allowing people to carry what is basically an "off-switch" for people has got to be one of the dumbest things a government has ever done.
I'd like to see laws made to go one way or the other in terms of the poisons we can or can't put into our bodies.
Either make alcohol and tobacco illegal or legalize other drugs.
