Shadow Warrior on Win XP anyone?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Shadow Warrior on Win XP anyone?

Post by Predabot » Mon Oct 17, 2005 4:38 pm

Well, for those of you that just can't remember this game, here's a link: :o http://3drealms.com/sw/index.html

NOw then, recently they uncovered a long forgotten OFFICIAL add-on for this game, and upon finding this out, I, with an excited glee on my mug, went into the game-bin, and installed this sucker. However... I just can't seem to play it??

I updated it into the newest version, slapped on the add-on, and then I ran the config, wich worked just fine, selecting sound-card and such. Then I ran the game... little ninja-stick swings of loading for 2 seconds... BANG!!!

It crasches. It seems to do so, whenever it's about to change the rez.

Anyone feeling lucky to install Shadow Warrior + Wanton Destruction on your XP and giving it a try? I tried launching it from command from the start-menu, but it didn't work.

EDIT: I found me a Game-faq. http://db.gamefaqs.com/computer/doswin/ ... ior_wd.txt

It does have some info here. I'll give it a try, and see if it works.

EDIT2: I GOT THE SHAT TO WORK! Well, the original that is. I think I'm going to try and see what it says about the add-on. The quest continues!!

EDIT3: SUPREME SUCCESS!!! For those interested, follow the instructions in the faq to the LETTER and you will get it to work!!

Now then, :) Let's see what we have here.
