The Smurfs are dead.

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

wouldn't it rock?

do you think it's Gargamel, finally come up with the best plan to rid himself of the Smurf menace? Or has Papa Smurf been stockpiling WMD against UN wishes?

Am I the only one to find it mortifying that the only way to make people care about war, suffering and child soldiers is by portraying such tragedies happening to smurfs instead of people?

Don't get me wrong, killing the smurfs is great and all but the underlying theory is decidedly depressing...

Dude! That was the good stuff! Those tapes from the early 80's have almost been burnt out in our family, as both me and my sister listened to them to near-death! :D

And I still kinda like the Smurfs, :( in a really sentimental and nostalgic way. The animated series was bloody funny too, at times. :)
