A lot of his stuff was very good. As much as the programme gets repeated, I never tire of Fletcher.
Loved that special he did not too long ago returning to the character.
Sad news.

Milligan and Barker were great writers, and it`s sad to see them go. It`s a curse of growing up, that your heroes tend to die before you.
The Pythons will be next, I`m dreading the rest of them joining Chapman in Grail heaven.

Logic dictates there is no place for such emotionalism in a Decepticon commander. Nor is there room for incompetence.
Just remember that you're standing on a planet that's evolvingLaserwave wrote:The Pythons will be next, I`m dreading the rest of them joining Chapman in Grail heaven.
And revolving at nine hundred miles an hour.
It's orbiting at ninety miles a second, so it's reckoned,
The sun that is the source of all our power.
The sun and you and me, and all the stars that we can see
Are moving at a million miles a day
Through an outer spiral arm at forty thousand miles an hour
Of the galaxy we call the Milky Way.
Our galaxy itself contains a hundred billion stars,
It's a hundred thousand lightyears side to side.
It bulges in the middle, sixteen thousand lightyears thick,
But out by us it's just three thousand lightyears wide.
We're thirty thousand lightyears from galactic central point,
We go round every two hundred million years.
And our galaxy is only one of millions and billions
In this amazing and expanding universe.
The universe itself keeps on expanding and expanding
In all of the directions it can whiz.
As fast as it can go, that's the speed of light, you know;
Twelve million miles a minute, and that's the fastest speed there is.
So remember when you're feeling very small and insecure,
How amazingly unlikely is your birth,
And pray that there's intelligent life somewhere out in space
Cause there's bugger-all down here on earth!

I'll be sad but I'm not dreading it because none of them, excepting Palin's travel journals, have done anything that's been funny or any good this century. Clease's big and now humilating exit from the UK (Stated nobody in the British isles appreciates humour ) undermined by the fact he simply isn't funny anymore.Laserwave wrote:

Oh, I'm Gillingham might have another good film insides of him but I doubt it will be made. The rest should have retired.
I say that because one of the things that mark Ronnie Barker's brilliant career was the fact he stopped when he saw the quality wouldn't have been as good and retired. I wish more people had the wisdom to do so.
Also the fact most of the stuff he wrote was under another name and didn't feel the need to take all the glory for it or bask in cheep celeb glory like so many others.
