V (the tv show).

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

The show was great, and pretty damn scary. Independence Day blatantly nicked a major set piece from it.

"V: The Next Generation" eh, oh, sorry, "V: The Second Generation"... ;)

original was ace, keep meaning to get that that DVD actually... am not going to start holding my breath for this new version, at least it sounds like a contiuation rather than a retelling (like so many recent shows)

Marc Singer must be, like, 100 years old now......whats he gonna do - threaten the invading aliens with his pension book and bus pass?

Like the TF 'toon, I thought 'V' was among the best things on earth when I was 9.

Anybody seen it recently? Has it stood the test of time?

And you heard this from where? I hope not.

As for standing the test of time probablly not, the face masks yes but let's not forget dodgy effect for ships going down puppet alien babies *shudder*. However i'm just glad it's going ahead and at least kenneth Johnson is still behind it. It may not be THE best sci-fi series of all time but i personally still hold it in hig reguard having it on DVD, and think it was one of the most fun at least.

Channel 5 repeated it a few years ago and I was hooked. :)

 That was him as "The Beastmaster", was it not!! Fantasic film in a sub-Conan the Barbarian I-can't be-bothered-to-turn-the-TV-over-so-this-will-do sort of way :D

I suspect he doesn't look like that anymore. He was born the same year as my dad........

wouldn't make sense to call it "Second Generation" if it was a remake, would it? :wtf:

V was ace, it had Michael Ironside!

The alien redshirt soldier blokes had worse aim than Stormtroopers.
