Pick your poison! You're out for a night on the town or just hangin' out with your mates, what's your alcoholic beverage of choice?
If I'm at the bars it depends on what amout of time I'm planning on spending at the fine establishment. If it's going to be awhile, I usually start off with a pint of Guinness (or, G Extra Stout if I'm in a particularly good mood). Down a couple of those and move on to Corrona for a bit. Following that, whatever's cheap as it's all about maintaining the buzz and keeping the good times going.
If it's only going to be a little while, I try to get the maximum results out of my time. There's a bar in my area that makes a Long Island with around 5 shots in it. Sometimes it can be as many as 7. It's about 90 percent booze, and 8 percent ice, and 2 percent whatever the non-booze is. Iced tea? Coke? Who knows.
Lively night at home? Rum mixers and Guinness. The perfect combination. Perhaps a couple of shots of Vodka with chasers of various beers or juices in order to keep the hydration going for a bit.
Booze of choice?
And no, you may not choose "pink lemonade" in this particular category. He knows who he is.

If I'm at home - Jägermeister, White Russian, Cider (and/or Corona).
Sometimes I mix the Jäger with Red Bull.
I also like to make various drinks (I just mix whatever the hell I have available. Bacardi Razz, with Sprite and a slice if lime = goodness).
If I'm at a pub I usually go for cider and some regular, boring beer.
And I usually tell the bartender "Give me two shots of the strongest crap you have" (I always do this when I'm out. I dont know why ).
I tried Long Island Tea a couple of years ago, and didnt like it at all. It was waaaay to expensive, and the only thing it tasted was ALCOHOL. It felt like drinking gazoline or something.
Maybe the bartender was crap at making that particular drink though?

Whazzat then?Professor Smooth wrote:G Extra Stout
Ditto, Guinness by preference.
Yup, I'd go for the Guinness as well, unless they have a proper traditional cider (with all the bits floating in it and the scum on top!! ), in which case thats mine!
4 or 5 pints of either and I'm on my back. I'm a lightweight and proud!
So, long nights tend to end just as early as short ones, unless I intersperse the alcoholic beverages with lemonades........
Funny though, I'm only good at pool when I had 4 pints of cider......

I'm not sure why, but I always end up with Captain Morgan. Usually I mix it with coke or sprite. I only drink it straight when I'm really trying to get drunk.
Other than that, I'm particularly fond of a drink called Liquid Cocaine. It starts with Jaeger, and you add every peppermint drink you can think of. It's extremely alchoholic but tastes like liquid candy.
Best part is, its the kind of drink that makes people gasp and back away from you when you order it.

I'll generally just take whatever's going, so long as it isn't Tennents', or piss weak rubbish. I'd rather drink a vodka or a whisky before a beer, but whatever.
I'm with Ob, mixing whatever's in the cupboard is good.
For getting enjoyably blitzed, for preference, Glenlivet or Glenmorangie.
For just drinking a nice drink till the cows come home, Long Vodkas will do me.

What can I say? You hang out with women long enough and you'll eventually start liking their beer.Brendocon wrote:
Corona is for girls. Seriously. Girls who like the taste of watered down piss with a slice of lime floating in it. Ugh.

You can say "Here, Brend - a full apology for my existence, a cheque for a million pounds and legal documentation absolving you of all responsibility for my soon-to-be suspicious demise."Professor Smooth wrote:What can I say?
For a start.
80% of the people The Brendinio Heat drinks with are chicks. Half of them drink Corona. Doesn't make it taste any better. You hang out with women long enough and you'll eventually start liking their beer.

I don't really drink that much, and I hate beer. Cider is nice though, but hardly served around here. I had nice one in Ireland.
And I never drink to get drunk (anymore), just for the taste.
I do like these:
- whiskey, specially Tullamore Dew
- baileys with chocomel
- after eight cocktail (chocolate and mint, like liquid bonbons!)
- fruity drinks
- tia maria
- some white or rosé wines, the french Reuilly is delicious!
- and champagne because it sparkles
all girls' drinks, except for the whiskey

Cider's pretty common here, you can get it in most places. If you're feeling particularly rich/stupid you could order a Magners at £4 a bottle - because it has a flashy advertising campaign. Or you could get a £2 pint of Strongbow which is exactly the same but comes on draught.
Not saying that I don't drink or enjoy any of those, but people in glass houses etc.

Am I the only one left who drinks, not to put too fine a point on it, a real man's drink? I've just spent a week canal boating around the Midlands downing pint after pint of real ales and Banks's Mild, not to mention a fair amount of lagers, and I come back to find I'm the only one without fruit and an umbrella in my glass. Bloody hell.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:vodka lemonade, slice of Lime and Ice...

I only drink straights. Can't stand my drink being contaminated by balsa, fruit or ice.Metal Vendetta wrote:Am I the only one left who drinks, not to put too fine a point on it, a real man's drink? Archemedes' Principle: If there's something in your drink besides your drink, it's taking up valuable space where your drink should be!
Glass accessories? Just say NO!

Am I the only person left with a damn sense of irony?!!Metal Vendetta wrote:Not saying that I don't drink or enjoy any of those, but people in glass houses etc.
Damn you people.
Recent conversation:
Cider-drinking-friend: "What are you on there?"
Moi: "Smirnoff Ice."
Cider drinker: "Ah, on the girly stuff already?"
Moi: "Yeah. Can't handle the hard stuff, me. How's your apple juice?"
Cider drinker: "... fair point."
All the girls I know drink nothing but piss-tasting lager, anyway.
Grrr. Argh.
