Captain Sky and the World of Tomorrow

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I acctually find it enjoyable. The 20's-stylee photo gets a bit annoying at times tho, since it becomes over-done in some areas, and it becomes hard to make out what's on the screen.

It's pretty good fun. :) Really far-out sorta retro feel.

Well yeah, its hard to get into at the start. I was actually about half way through before I was enjoying it. In the end, not bad. 6/10

Hey, Hellboy wasn't that bad... Kroenen ruled that movie though. Wonder if they'll make part 2?

Thanks for the comments, now I only wish I had time to see it!

Wow Impy, you thought Hellboy was worse than Sky Captain?

My friends and I went to see Sky Captain on the word of Ebert's very positive review.

Suffice to say seeing Shaun of the Dead a week later was the only thing that could cleanse our eyes and make it all better.

ok hellboy isnt worse then sky captain, but its on the same level or near enough. i wouldnt want to have to watch either film again.

they are cheap boring dribble with childlike plots that dont even complete thier own basic story conceptions.

rubbish crapo films I wish I hadnt wasted my life upon.

I really liked Hellboy first time out. Fell pretty flat on rewatching, though.

Most of it was like "yeah... whatever."

And Rasputin is a cack villain. Standing about going on about how... whatever it was he was going on about... isn't menacing, it's rubbish. The Mayor managed to pull it off by being funny. Him turning into a giant cgi reptile was also a logical conclusion of the entire story arc. Rasputin turning into one was a big old plot contrivance. "Every time I return from the dead, a bit more of my god comes with me." Right. So you're just being used by your god as a way for him to pass through. Nice of it, eh? Also nice of you to only mention this four minutes before it has any bearing on the plot. Your god would be screwed if your girlfriend didn't keep bringing you back though, Eh?

Yawn.
