****** amazing goal!
That game was match of the season - nah, decade. [composite word including 'f*ck'] it, probably best of all time.
Arsenal didn't miss Vieira one bit, not even a tiny amount. Michael Essian is worth every penny.

it was so exciting, if the rest of season pans out likes this im going to be wetting my pants every min.
Drogbas controll was incredible, he was so confident he just used his knee, amazing skill.
Essien came on and completely changed the game, it was like a whole new team was born.
Arsenals 1 dimensional attack plan should have won it for them. and Henry was once more the proven talent in front of a decent side he always is...

In all seriousness though, I really hope we beat Liverpool in the next month, as Hansen is clearly very bitter at the prospect of us bettering them in the league.
I watched that live, I can tell you Davids and Carrick were very good together. Boro's 1/2 clear openings were all they had in 90, and one was due to Tainio not tracking Downing in the first place, not Davids or Carrick.

That is what I'm referring to - it was bollocks.
He calimed Davids and Carrick were both holding midfielders - complete cock. Davids was all over the fooking place, crossing, getting into the box for crosses, closing players down.
Hansen took maybe 30 seconds of play in the match and suggested that was the trend of the game. Clearly guff as for my money Boro created one great chance by winning out over our midfield, which was Downing's.
Boateng's effort was a well worked pass by Viduka, but was at a difficult angle, on the bounce, whilst he was also under pressure. Viduka hit a good shot on the turn - friom 30 yards. I'd put a substantial bit of cash on Robbo from stopping anything on target from that range.
We didin't dominate by any stretch, although we created several good openings. Boro looked most dangerous from set pieces afaic. We only had to control the game anyway after Defoe said his piece and control it I think we did by and large.

Damn, that was jammy and possibly offside.
Still dispite the unfortuant luck, we showed that we are on par with Chelski and take heart that fact that none of the top 4 has started on particulary strong form.
But Wenger should invest in another defender and he should go back to 2002 when we attacked in lots of different ways. We were a better team then and even a better team that even in our unbeaten season IMO. That was my favorite year ever as an Arsenal fan besides '89, '93 and '94.
For some reason now we don't cross the ball in ever, even when we have the ball for ages in the last 3rd. It's bizare we seem to only try and let Henry take on the defence or someone to make a pin point pass through the legs of the defenders and we don't bother making runs into box

yup, I noticed from the charity shield that Arse never cross the ball, which is daft, trying to run through CHelskis midfield is like trying to breach a wall with a fork.
they pass it around arse, loads of passing, but the plan off attack can be thwarted simply by sticking men behind the ball. Henry didnt even feature.
Hleb looks good, but Arsenals play style looks old.

Man Uniteds midfield of 3 in comparison to last season 4,Best First wrote:Much like Man U's midfield...
Boro are freaking dull. Hope we win tonight but i don't think Macs tactics are aggressive enough to exploit the talent we have.
comprising of Park Ji Sung, whoi looks good, keane, scholes, smith, and Fletcher who looks better. - yes this midfield looks a 1 trick pony...
Consider it might end up with Ballack in thier to and u can stuff ROnaldo or Giggs in to make a 5 man, thats different, and impressive.

Scholes is smashing going forward, but doesn't have to many years left in him, same with Keane, same with Giggs.Impactor returns 2.0 wrote:Man Uniteds midfield of 3 in comparison to last season 4,Best First wrote:Much like Man U's midfield...

Never said they were one trick, just old.
Plus Fletcher is not good enough for Man U IMO. He has b-team written all over him. Your youth system doesn't seem to be churning them out like it used to.
ergo i'd be slightly concerned, especially as you seem to have rod cash. Your midfield certainly isn't as strong as it used to be, and if i was a fan (which, living in Surrey i can claim to be any time i like) i'd be a bit worried about it
Park is fun to watch tho - seems to try a bit hard but other han that.
Ronaldo has come on leaps and bounds, at least when he is not looking like a kiddie botherer in an advert that tries to convince me that a pro footballer would drive an 8k suzuki.

scholes and keaner are old, I belive they will perform just great this season tho, current form shows them lively enough to compete.
I agree this is the problem area, and the only player I think united would have gone for are essien. but obviously CHelski can outbid anyone
But Ballack would be more then enough to cover.
Fletch is funny, according to most TV pundits hes been great, and was good enough to beat Arse twice last season and looks more acomplished already, so we can see how he works out.
both wings have been replaced with park and ronaldo, I dont see a problem there, I think we can agree ROnaldo is deff world class.
looking around the pitch the defence is good, and we will most likely land the Brazilian cacuian, who looks great, a RB, to replace Gary, who still has a good few years left on him, and then we have a proper defence.
the midfield we have covered but seriously just needs a Keane style player, and thus all tranfer money can go there next season.
depending on formation, up front u have rooney, nuff said, ronaldo, nuff said, and rudd. plus smith - who god knows, good player where to put him?
and van-de-sar is good for 3 years
As united supporter im not worried one bit, the youth system does produce stars, we have many on loan currently gainning experience.
for example
Gussipe Rossi, already looks great up front, and this season i bet will bea big name.
Kieron richardson was great for england
and.
That defender we nicked of Barca admitedly, but is quality.
the games changed you cant just stick new kids in anymore, but all in all united look strong, not as rich compared to Chelski, but right now they are the only team that can compete with them season. and in comming seasons they will still be at the top.

Hmm, I think United's midfield currently looks yards better then Arsenal.
Arsenal/Chelsea was absolute dog sirt as a match, but far from matching Chelsea I think Arsenal just looked clueless. Chelsea's goal was ****, true. but once they got it... put it this way, if I supported Arsenal I would be fookin worried about how ***** and inefective my team was once Chelsea took the lead. Chelsea were workman like but Lehman did actually have to make saves...
Uniteds on the other hand looks like it can get goals from all angles. I think Fletcher is actually improving game by game, although granted he is the weakest player right now. Ronaldo and Rooney playing any and everywhere is a bit frightning for the opposition.
The Arse have not only to replace Vieira, but most importantly they have to replace Campbell. They are gash without him.
