There is no "e" in "ridiculous"

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Or "what perpetually-repeated spelling mistakes annoy the piss out of you?"

That's mine for the day.

What's yours?

"Scorpinok", but actually haven't seen that in a while.

"Grammer".

Not annoying, but I think someone should tell Osku (guy from TFA, who sometimes posts here, too, for those who don't know him) that there's no "q" in "guess". ;)

Honestly? The whole "s" & "z" thing between locals on each side of the Atlantic.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.

The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Is it acceptable to spell "Lose" with an extra 'O?'

I often see people say things like: "The Mets always loose."

At first I thought it was a natural (though unreasonably aggravating) typo, but the more I saw people do it the more I started to believe that it was intentional, maybe even correct. (Four fingers! wrong! zap!)

Failing this, nothing irritates me as much as "Pwned." But then again, this too is intentional.

:x

Not at all. That's another one that bugs the **** out of me.

lose = not win
loose = floppy

[edit]While we're on the subject, people in London who write, or say the phone number as: 0207 XXX XXXX annoy the living bejeezus out of me. I'll say this once, and once only.

020 is the code. The 8-digit number beginning with 7 is the phone number. If you try and dial the number without the 7 on the start of it, it won't work. The number should be 020 7XXX XXXX. Or 020 7X XX XX XX. Or even 020 7XX XX XXX would be fine. 0207 is just ******* retarded.

This applies to most secretaries, admin staff and indeed, people, I have met throughout my working life.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

People in Utah say "across" as "acrost."

It kills me.

It's hard being somewhat of an amateur grammar stickler on this wide world of the web. You need to be prepared for lots of proverbial tongue-holding. :)

Once is okay, but multiple mistakes across a single post is annoying.
Don't these mooks proofread their posts before they stab 'submit' with their stubby finger?

'Prehaps' I find it a little perturbing that some people cannot tell the difference between having 'brought' or 'bought' things.

And Punctuation is essential to successful communication. ;)

Common spelling mistake that annoys? Probably the mispelling of my sn... it's right there. How do people mispell it? :(

Ehh, it's not intolerable though... it's a "eh, whatever" type of thing that only really bothers me when something else is bugging me. My own habit of accidently mixing up the order of the 'h' and the 't' at the end of the word 'thought' or adding a 't' at the end of the word 'though' when posting is something that annoys me constantly though as it's not usually something I catch until after I've already posted, for some reason.
