...I'm dropping a monthly Spider-Man title from my comic list. Why?
MARVEL KNIGHTS SPIDER-MAN #19
Guest Writer PETER DAVID
Pencils and Cover by PAT LEE
Just another typical night of insanity for Mary Jane as she deals with an obsessed stalker and with watches helplessly while Spider-Man slugs it out with...Iron Man? And that’ s just a warm-up for the devastating confrontation she has with Peter that results in the last thing she expected to hear. Part 2 (of 12).
32 PGS./T+ SUGGESTED FOR TEENS AND UP ...$2.99
I said that Marvel would never see a cent of my money from Pat Lee's works and I'm sticking with that. How could I ever speak to Don or Guido again if I bought these? "Well guys, you're both awesome, and I thank you both for being interviewed on the site, but I really like Spider-Man, so I'm gonna go back to buying books from the guy who owes stacks of cash..." No. I think not.
I think I'll survive with not seeing Lee draw my favorite superhero with giant tits, swelled feet, and Stay-Puft-like proportions.

What's the difference between MK Spider-Man and the other Spidey comics?
I mean I can understand there being three-dozen different X-Men titles [although Astonishing and Exiles are the only decent ones] because of the size of the roster... but there's only one Spidey (nowadays, at least).
So, eh?

They all pretty much fit in with one another (though not easily). It's just so they can make more cash on Spidey (3 times a month) instead of if he were in a single monthly book. There hasn't been a lone Spider-Man monthly since the mid 70's.Brendocon wrote:What's the difference between MK Spider-Man and the other Spidey comics?

Yeah, Spectacular's over. Now it's just Amazing Spider-Man, Marvel Knights Spider-Man, Friendly Neighborhood Spider-Man, Ultimate Spider-Man, and New Avengers (featuring Spider-Man). Plus there's a couple of mini-series like Spider-Man: Breakout or Toxin (featuring Spider-Man).

Being that I haven't entered a standard old comic shop in quite some time, let me just say...
...
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

!? More than 5 to 7? Wow, guess the "lifestyle" was a bit in effect back then. I never noticed more than three off the top of my head.

Mid 90's Spider-Man:Ozz wrote:M'eh, I think there was more Spidey books in the middle of 90s.
Amazing Spider-Man, Spectacular Spider-Man (volume 1), Web of Spider-Man, (McFarlane) Spider-Man, Spider-Man Unlimited, Spider-Man 2099, A host of Spider-Man minis (Arachnis Project, Funeral for an Octopus, etc), Venom (spin off from ASM 375), and various Spider-Man 1-shots (Maximum Clonage Alpha/Omega, Osborne Journal, etc)
Yeah, that was difficult to collect.

Hmm, makes sense. That was roughly the time I was just down to X-Titles and soon after fizzled out on spending cash on comic books for want of smokes, alcohol, and various other items.
