A Bear's Tail

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

A Bear's Tail

Post by Autobloke » Fri Jul 15, 2005 4:32 pm

So, after a sh*t third series, and a confusing DVD release that meant I didn't buy the set with the Christmas episode on :x because there were about three different series three versions, we come to the new series.
A new format, based on the last Christmas special - which I didn't ever get around to watching all of - brings Bo 'Selecta back to our screens (episode two tonight). The first episode of this new series bored the crap out of me - hardly any 'mask' scenes, too much Bear just telling rubbish jokes and being annoying, 'famous' people just being in it because they can walk and breathe at the same time, and absolutely NO comedy.
Where did it all go wrong? The first series was genius; the second only slightly worse; the third with too much Avid sh*te (a character thankfully relegated to a tiny part in the new series - but still no funnier).
I'm going to watch tonight's episode in the vain hope that things might improve now the set-up for the new series format has been introduced, but if it's still dump I'm off to get my giggles elsewhere.
Hell, they even changed the series name from Bo 'Selecta to protect the 'good' name in case the fourth series is pump (which it would seem to be).

Anyone else watch this show?
Anyone else frustrated at the 'p*ssing it up against the wall' nature of this once-amusing show?
*waits for people that never liked the show to post that it was ALL rubbish from start to finish*

I haven't seen Bears Tail either, but I'll give it a view. I always liked the bears slot (Fnarr!! :D ) on Bo Selecta, though......a shame if he's watered it down too much. As long as Steven the squirrel is still there, I'm happy :D

I haven't heard about the Ricky Gervais thing either. I must remember to come out from under my rock occasionally.......

Never ever heard about any of them. They must be british only? In sweden we get a lot of Brit-com and other things from BBC, but I don't think I've ever come across this one.

Is it sorta like the excellent Trigger-happy TV?

youve not seen Bo'Selector?, well bears tail is like a new series, sort of.
then theres Ricky 'I have all the awards, including US' Gervais, who made the most amazing series, 'the Office' and is back with new series called extras.

Peep show has 2 series and is soon back for a third, and is my fav comedy. ever. period.

I really hope this is some kind of TV show.

Here Pred, try this:
http://www.boavid.com/
or do a search for Bo 'Selecta. I get the feeling it may all intrigue you.

Okay, watched last night's episode and it was slightly better - but still now particularly funny.
It had an amusing 'Desperate Housewives' parody with Mel B (the rubber mask version - with 'crab paste') and Jodie Marsh (the real one with the wonky mouth - in an ill-fitting tiny bikini).
The real (and still pregnant Katie Price) babysitting The Bear.
A very funny Michael Jackson Fan parody.
A very NOT funny 'joke' scene taking the p*ss about having OCD. :x

So, a little better - not much - but enough to make me (consider) watching it again next week.
Opinions from anyone else that saw last night's ep? I get the general opinion that it probably isn't that well loved anymore.
Here's to next week...
