Fantastic Four movie

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Its not the best make-up job ever, is it? He's supposed to be solid, like stone, isn't he? And he looks...well......see what Autobloke said!

I've seen the trailer, and it set my Generic-Superhero-Movie alarm off. Unless I sart hearing some very good reviews I'll wait until it comes out on DVD. And one of my friends buys its :D

Say no more. ;)

I figure you'll be wanting 2 more good reviews until you go see it?

I'm probably going to go see it in 2 weeks or so. :) It doesn't open in sweden until next week, and I never really want to go see a movie on it's opening week.

I'm not saying I won't watch it sometime, but I rarely ever go to the cinema anymore because films come to DVD so quickly now I may as well save the ticket fee for putting towards buying the disc.
The film looks like it's probably just yer standard superhero fare - which is fine with me. I just don't see why the filmmakers couldn't have made the Thing's body a bit more rock-like and put some effort into his head too (where's his big brow?). It just looks like what it is - a big rubber suit. Perhaps it looks better in motion and not stills.

Well, I wasn't expecting that. And it says that the Thing looks a little better on screen. OK, if the reviews are that favourable, I'm might be tempted.

Just got back from seeing it, and it was awesome!

A few minor picky things, but in whole....great!

People have been saying that this film is good. Cheesy looking in the trailer but it's a very good comic book movie.

Ah, now that's where you're wrong, see?

Cos, in the beginning, The Thing's appearance was more along the lines of Lumpy-Man, and it was only later on that he turned into Rock-Man.

So, it looks like they're being quite faithful, seeing as this is an origin plot, rather than an pre-established one.

I bow to your greater knowledge. The only FF comics I own are the story arc where Death's Head makes a cameo, so I wouldn't know about him originally being squishy.

This I know. But surely the filmmakers would want to have the current version of the Thing and not one from YEARS ago?

Unless they were planning an ever-lovin' sequel even as they wrote this one? ;)

Well, it seemed that Sue's character spent more of the movie trying to get into Reed's pants than in solving thier "problem".

But, just minor things.

It's not a great 'film' by any stretch, pardon the pun, but it's an all around great summer popcorn movie. :-)

Perhaps she was trying to solve a different kind of problem.

So, Fantastic 4? Did I miss the other three movies that came before it?
Not including that other F4 film that was made but never released, of course.
What did the Thing look like in that version?

Like he was made of actual rock!

I saw it. A pretty good comic book movie, but nothing that either fulfilled or transcended the genre. Dr. Doom was the worst part, in my opinion: how lame and generic can you make such a great villian?

They should make it an extra on the DVD - that'd be cool. And... crap, of course.

Some people want to see the film more urgently than others, it would seem...

Heh, you beat me to saying this, yes? Though I did see the cartoon, which was... plain bad.

I'm seeing Batman Begins soon... it's better spent money then on FF.,

If there is FF sequel, it would be a good excuse for a live-action appearence by DH. He's crossed the FF's path on numerous occasions. It needn't even be a good film, just a live action DH will do....... :swirly:
