Do employers in the UK check for traces of dope in the blood, and if so, does that prevent a prospective employee's chances of being hired?

I think my Topic Bar thing was justified as it led nicely onto the munchies (not Munchies, which is another kind of chocolate bar).
Or did the board spaz and out and forget me (no such luck people - so stop hoping)?
Actually, I quite like cereal for my munchies. You can easily eat a whole box of those mini chocolate Weetabix when you've really got the need going. Or is that just me?

My old job checked my urine once, but I think that was them just being curious as to why I hadn't died yet.
