The life-sucking power of Sim games

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

The life-sucking power of Sim games

Y'ever have this particularly strange experience?

It's roughly noon-ish. You just get back from going out to pick up a few things and on the way home you stop at the video store and browse. You see a video game you think might be interesting and you decide to check it out, so you rent it.

Y'get home, you sit down with it, set things up, and start playing.

And then, the next you look up you find that you've just lost about three-four hours of your life.

I rented a hunting sim! It's called Cabela's Deer Hunter and I found that I quite enjoy blowing the pixels out of Bambi's mother. And father, and brothers and sisters. 0_o

It's the weirdest thing to have a game on, though. I never thought that getting a clean shot on a jittery Whitetail buck could be so satisfying...

You get this cabin to put the heads of the biggest deer in. It's slightly disturbing... y'walk in and there's the heads of every deer you've killed hanging on the walls around you. It's like the Cabin of the Damned. :p

So yeah... let's give this ramble a point. ;) Basically, sim games= life-sucking. But fun. This one's a bit different... but I think Sim Games are my favourite game type. Yours?

Oh, and what's a good game to try? I've started playing a few games since I have almost unlimited access to my brother's Playstation 2 but don't know what's crap and what's not.

I love when you find a game like that :)

You seem... evil, by the way

Sims 2 totally counts. I saw the Playstation 2 version of Sims at the video store too, And I want to try it. I played the version with the pets when one of my brothers had it on his comp, it was pretty cool.

 Virtual innocent animals! I couldn't do it in real life... hell, I don't even eat meat. Knowingly anyway.

I'm a hypocrite! But I don't care.

Speaking of Sims, anybody every watch these? From the makers of Red Vs. Blue!
