Every so often the server goes down I think - the Archive is usually down too. Oh, and on some machines it doesn't automatically log me in until I click "profile" and then it returns me to the index page ready logged-in as normal. Not sure why.

The intelligent discussions that sometimes occur here (I just read them though).
And the rules. I love the rules. This whole place feels relly 'free'. Threads are allowed to go offtopic (if it's done correctly, so to speak), etc.
The people, and the atmosphere they create.

About once a fortnight the site seems to become unavailable, both at home and in college, giving a server timeout. Probably due to routine maintenance or downtime.

Site doesn't behave well on my college's proxy server, tho that should probably read site has problems because my college's proxy server doesn't behave.

Replace Conventions with News. News topics can be posted and then discussed in the appropriate forum perhaps.

What are your favourite things about Transfans?
The qualities of its community.
What are your least favourite things about Transfans?
I'm not sure tbh. I feel we can come off as a bit cliquey, a sort of 'your either part of the in-crowd or youre not' type thing, not sure how to get round that tho. Not even sure we need to, we don't need hundreds of new posters all the time.
What does Transfans have that other sites do not?
A place where the intelligent and tasteful genuinely seem to have a majority.
What does Transfans lack that other sites have?
Don Murphy's constant raving like a mental patient and people posting about how great Don Murphy is, due to his raving like a mental patient. That's a good thing tho.
Do the admins/mods do a good job? If not, why not?
Some of the mods seem to have been absent an awful long time, maybe it would be worth discussing 'culling' a few? The few left over seem to cope with the amount of traffic and generally do an admirable job imo.

Very rarely it happens that everything go mostly white, and there's not much graphics visible. Also, about as rarely, when you have posted and go to Index not all of the discussion areas are visible.

What are your favourite things about Transfans?
The many good FUN people here. Most people are really quite nice and intelligent.
What are your least favourite things about Transfans?
The not so fun people...sometimes things don't mix, and there are fights.
it's especially a problem if a moderator is the one that the other indivdual don't mix with.
I have recently also found myself to grow somewhat tired of the whining. Wether it's about movie-producer Don Murphy, comic-artist Pat Lee or religion it comes to a point where it's not funny or an interesting discussion anymore.
What does Transfans have that other sites do not?
A sort of feeling of "first time", a home away from the real worlds pains.
What does Transfans lack that other sites have?
Curtesy and restraint. It's somewhat wild nature is what draws me back here, but for the last 1.5 years I feel that the atmosphere has been souring up very much. There's some kind of 'grumpiness' here.
I am also of the opinion that TransFans should have a more advanced skinning-option built in. One wich would pehaps sport a very eye-candy filled theme.
Do the admins/mods do a good job? If not, why not?
As said earlier, the atmosphere in some topics is galling, with an immense amount of cursing* at others really. And often the mods can get involved themselves in this. Instead of just simply closing it down immeadiately at the first sight of trouble. I think it would be good if some of the mods had a sit-down about the tone used, as there's really never a reason for a mod to get rude. If he doesn't like what he see he simply locks it, or banns it. All with a curtesy-filled tone and a smile on his lips.
Any additional comments/suggestions:
It would be interesting for the premiere of the new movie to put such a 'skin' as the standard. As an experiment, to see if it could attract more casual lookers.
* The cursing done is ussually done with little stars blotting out one or two letters, this is ridiculous and serves no purpose, as with some common sence semantics,the posters immediately recognise the curse-word and it's intent is done. I propose that you have to be logged in to see General Discussion, and that a little warning-sign is put there, that "n this forum the curse-filter is off, curse all you want, you bannination material". Or alternatively, that a new Adult section is opened for this purpose.

I think the other areas of Transfans BESIDES community and comics could take a lot of work. More reviews in cartoons and toys, more downloads, etc.

Aside from the aforementioned bare bones cartoon/toys section, I think the only think we lack is a good knowledge of when to quit.
Do the admins/mods do a good job? If not, why not?
I think they do a good job, in a sense that I always see Rebis, TT, spiderfrommars, and Ironhide in the forums, occasionally saying mod like things and making sensible mod decisions. Pretender Bumblebee is MIA, though.
