MP3 player trouble

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

MP3 player trouble

Post by Darth Aux » Tue May 31, 2005 10:01 pm

I'm having a problem with my new MP3 player. :eyebrow:

I'm a discman kinda guy usually but I've dived into the shiny world of MP3 and Down loading now.

I down loaded some tracks from MSN Music Last night and want to put them on my MP3 player. The licences say I can burn them 10 times and synchro them (Put them on MP3 player) 25 times. But it won't put them onto the MP3. :x

All the tracks I copied from my CD collection will transfer, I'm absolutley pap with computers and haven't got a clue what to do, can anyone help?

Please describe what happens and what programs you are using.

I assume its Media Slayer 10?

So you go to Synchronise, do the songs you have downloaded appear in the library? Are you connected to the internet when you try and synch, as the player may wish to download licences?

Sounds like they're DRM (data rights management) protected. I had this trouble after DLing some tracks. They were in WMA format (which my mp3 player plays), but the DRM stopped me from being able to copy the file across to the player.

I got round it by burning the tracks onto CD (which the DRM allowed) and then ripping them back off that disc. Cheating? Sure. Effective? Definitely.

If you can't copy to CD, though... uhm, pass.
Grrr. Argh.

I thought it may be the discs I bought, as my CD writer is old and the discs were x52. So I bought some x4 - x10 cdrw's to try that way out Brend.

I'll give it a go, thanks.
