Thank George Lucas?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Nifty idea. They still need more than 900,000 signatures. Think they'll make it?

Well... I think they'll make it.

I just noticed that you need to register. So I say; They'll never make it.
Can't believe I'm still here.

He's made ******* millions, has a 20,000,000 square foot home carved from diamonds, has legions of fans lining up to take his place in hell for him and is creditted with creating the most overrated 'Greatest Movie of All Time' ever.

Writing a thank-you petition seems almost academic.

But polite. :D

I've got a petition. It's called the "**** You George Lucas" petition. I'm sure he's interesting, I really do enjoy ALL the Star Wars movies, and have no real beef against the guy whatsoever. But it seems like a good balance to the above petition. Plus it has equal liklihood of working. It has no signitures, no website, no anything, and yet equal chance. It also deserves to beat out the other petition for the simple fact of Jar Jar.

As far as "sharing my story" in regards to how Star Wars affected my life; Ex. Episode I. - Instead of getting high at my friend's house and playing video games... ...we got high at my friend's house and went to see Episode I.

Not that I get high anymore. *Cough, cough*

Man, can't wait for Episode III! :headbang:

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.

The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Star Search. George was a camera operator that worked on the Ed McMahon hosted show. People are thanking him for bringing to the world moving pictures of a young Britney Spears.

I signed it. Can't hurt.

Plus the original trilogy pretty much shaped me into the person I am today.

Right. Who's going to walk in and make a "helmet" joke first, then?

My money's on Ob. Though Impy is also a decent bet...

When George Lucas Sr asked his son to join him in the art-supply business, George Jr said, "Dad, today you're going to do exactly what you did yesterday, and tomorrow the same. This is your life and you love it. But I only want to do something once." Discuss.

Nice.

I have to wonder about his #7 though. Why the hell would I want to see these folks eat? Can't I be trusted to have enough insight to a biological need that's a given and not have to actually SEE it onscreen to assume it happens? And while I got a good kick out of, "Sentences he chops in half! Then back together puts!" Yoda, annoying? Piss off.

Best. Review. Ever.

in all honest I enjoy the SW films (except TPM, I refuse to even sit through it) it's just the way they're put up on such an, imo, undeserved pedastal.

I think I might purchase damnyougeorge.com... ;)

Since the American Pie song and Park Wars, I've grown a fondness for TPM...it has some nice moments, anyway...

Right, I'm here. Sorry I'm late, hope I didn't miss any chances to make a joke about helmets. ;)

The only thing that ever springs into my mind when I think about Star Wars is George Lucas' hair. It looks like a skunk died on his head.

Skunk plus Ewok equals box with red X.

I always wondered where those things came from.
