I kinda expected that, being as I'm a huge Alias (JJ Abram's previous tv series) fan, despite thinking it to be fantastically rubbish.spiderfrommars wrote:bit trashy tho.
Nothing quite compares to drama that is both completely ridiculous and thoroughly compelling.

And he spent most of the show looking like he was constipated. Ohh, he has a drug problem - that's a new idea for a character . Let's hope he goes on a drug-crazed killing spree or something.
And the blatant bluescreen shots and puppet Polar Bear were a bit cheapy looking.
I did like the uncomfortable bit when that Kate had to nab herself a pair of hiking boots and that bloke was looking at her. You couldn't tell if he was judging her or understanding her situation.
Anyway, that was just the pilot - those are always a bit off - I'll have to see what a real episode turns up come next week's.

Uhm, ignore that "who cares?" - it was rude.Obfleur wrote:who cares? alongs accate there

Keep on trucking!
Oh, and I love it when you give characters a new name - and you forget the real name, and you're talking with someone about the show and say like "And then Pippin just jumps right out and save her! " and the fellow you're talking with is just " "
Can't believe I'm still here.
Well, Naveen Andrews is English, so you can be protective of him if you want?spiderfrommars wrote:I feel protective over Dominic Whathisface's character, him being the only Brit and all. I hope he doesn't turn out to be a complete ****.
I can't decide if the "I was in the Gulf War" / "Which brigade" exchange was brilliant or predictable and clichéd. Def one of my fave moments, though. And my dad's, it would seem.
[quot="Autobloke"]Ohh, he has a drug problem - that's a new idea for a character[/quote]
So you think that no TV characters should ever have a drug problem, because it's been done before?

Not at all, but I suppose that they have to have all the usual suspects such as the comedy fat guy, the junkie, the criminal, the cop, the doctor, the nutter, the kid - I'm just surprised that there isn't a priest or a nun in it too.Brendocon wrote:So you think that no TV characters should ever have a drug problem, because it's been done before?Autobloke wrote:Ohh, he has a drug problem - that's a new idea for a character
That oriental guy looks to be up to no good though - is he testing food on the other passengers to see what's safe to eat? I like the fact that he and his wife (I assume) don't speak english - that's more original than the drug guy.
If anyone's interested, there's a behind the scenes programme on E4 at 9pm tonight, and the first two eps are repeated from 10.40pm on C4 too.

i like the way it starts with a fairly basic LOTF premise and then...
...some F***ed up shizzle starts to happen.
Ep 3 (E4 baby) was the poorest so far tho, not to much in the way of additional clues as to what the fook is going on. But still quite entertaining. Me like.
and remember, no spoilers before the terrestrial airing peeps.

I totally agree with that - the episode was mostly about telling us more of what we already knew, but without telling us more of what we didn't. This is hard without spoiling the ep for those who haven't seen it yet.Best First wrote:Ep 3 (E4 baby) was the poorest so far tho, not to much in the way of additional clues as to what the fook is going on. Yeah, I had to turn off that 'Revealed' programme after ten minutes because it was giving too much away about upcoming episodes. Bit dumb to show the programme so early in the run.Best First wrote:no spoilers before the terrestrial airing peeps.
Here's to episode four on E4 on wednesday. Pity the blurb in the TV guide gave the plot away.

Ack
F***socks, that was pretty blinding. More awesome than Buffy? That remains to see, I have yet to empathise with any of the characters as much as I did with the Scooby Gang (or indeed the DS9 crew) but nonetheless it's a good hit of TV right where you need it.Obfleur wrote:Lost is more awesome than Buffy.
Dammit already I need more.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!
