Everton V united

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Still Everton are a bloody good team without Beattie. Haven't seen the match but the pub I just returned from was my local "Hand in hand" with a pro Arsenal croud so we cheared the Everton goal like crazy.

Enjoy 3rd. Chelski still haven't beaten us this season :)

Both Neville and scoles sent off. Man Utd lost the plot.

That also pretty much confirms that Everton will finish 4th, this was other than the Arsenal game they only one where we (Liverpool) had a genuine hope of them dropped enough points for us to catch them.

Carlos was on teh radio this morning blaming the ref for Gary 'Spiv 'tache' Neville kicking the ball at the crowd.

Right, Gary had no choice.

What a joke.

If your lot could beat West Brom, we'd be in a better position.

Spurs = useless.

We deserve to go down the way we've faffed about this season. But West Brom, Palace and Norwich deserve to go down more, on the grounds that I don't like them.
Grrr. Argh.

I wonder what's going to happen this summer with man Utd - the board said that when you splurged on Rooney that was this summers money spent in advance - they need some pretty serious rebuilding in midfield and a top class goalie - even with selling a few fringe players they might only be able to afford 2 decent signings - it would give other clubs a chance to catch up. Liverpool with a few decent signings and not having half theteam injured at any one time could exploit and I expect Tottenham to actually do really well next season they've most of the good young ERnglish players from the Championship and if they gel could be good.

Hi Jets, found my password for this place on an old scrap of paper and thought I'd say hi

United said that they will buy a Keeper, and hopefully that Lyon midfielder.

Otherwise, I dont actually see a problem, as most pundits have pointed out, through Euro 04, the Olympics, and injury United season of first teamers has been patchy.

I dont think they have a problem to be honest, nothing the odd player wont fix, so next season with some concistancy behind them I think the title race will be closer.

If they hadnt drawn the first 5 games, due to 9 first team players being on international duty or injured and banned, I belive this season would be alot closer.

Next season will be better.

Is there any point?

Afterall nobody at the moment is going to displace Keane, Scoles, Giggs or Ronaldo.

You could sya Arsenal have had a similar argument. Gilberto, Edu, Vieira, Henry, Ljungberg, Pires, Campbell and cole have all had lenghty injuries. Campbell and Gilberto being the worst cases.

Well, it might broaden the squad -> giving better squad rotation.
Instead of playing 50 games a season, maybe some players might just play 42.
This could lead to less injuries, etc :)

Just a thought.
Can't believe I'm still here.

I think theres loads of point, Keane wont last past next season, so they need another midfielder.
