I was just having a look at the members list (yeah, I was really REALLY bored) and was surprised at the sheer number of people that have registered as members but never posted - or just posted once or twice. What the hell is the point of that? Why join something and never/hardly ever use it? (says the bloke who joined the gym a few months ago but hasn't been for the last two weeks - trying to finish writing my book, which is more stressful - but less knackering physically). It's not like they need to register to read the forums.
Anyway, why do they do this? And has anyone out there ever joined something and never or hardly ever actually bothered to do it? What was it? And why'd you blow it out?

It's only polite, isn't it? But why are there so many members that have posted zero or once or twice ever? Surely the guys (and possibly gals) that run this site should just delete them off after a certain amount of time of no posts.
The only reason I can think of for the zero post members is like when I tried to register at the TFW2005 site, but never got an activation email. That said, I don't show up on their members listings (although I am registered with a name and password and everything). I like the Transfan site here alot, but when the boards are a bit quiet I'd like to post at TFW - I check the news etc there everyday and read their forums, so it'd be easier than trawling the 'net for a new site (certainly NOT Siebertron, or whatever it's called).

Pshaw!! Even though you've been posting a little less lately, still, 2000 posts in one year is pretty damn frequent.Optimus Prime Rib wrote:I feel like I am not posting nearly enough lately. I will break the top 50 soon.
As far as the original subject goes, I'm registered at Transfandom, TFW2005, and Transformerland as well, but honestly, this is the only board that I read and post at on a regular basis.

OI! The amount of "special time" I spend with my wife has NOTHING to do with this!Legion wrote:ahhh... the old quantity vs quality debate!Shanti418 wrote: Pshaw!! Even though you've been posting a little less lately, still, 2000 posts in one year is pretty damn frequent.

I think posting should be compulsory, as it is in Australia. People fought and died to give you the right to post, and you should exercise that right. Those who do not post can simply post a blank post, or "..." indicating that they have nothing to say.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!

I'm watching god-knows how many topics right now, which means at least a dozen emails from the site telling me to post whenever I go online. I didn't know it wasn't compulsory to post and I was too afraid not to answer.
Okay, maybe that isn't true, but I DO feel it's kinda rude and a bit pointless being a member and not contributing fairly regularly.
Damn manners...

In my case, I'm unfortunately one of the resident lurkers who pops up to annoy folks from time to time I'm still trying to make sure everything is properly done, and it appears that all I need is a piece of paper at the end of the semester...thank God it's fianlly over... At this point, I'm lookin around to see what I can do with regards to local musical theatre, and learning some backstage stuff like lighting and makeup (never done it, thought it might be fun to learn)
I have gone to find myself. If I get back before I return, keep me here.
