I am considering getting rid of quite a few comics and toys, ideally quickly, but i have no idea how to.
ebay isn't really a practical option at the moment, as i am rarely at home.

Are you on friendly terms with any comics stores near you? Would imagine that most of them are quite used to buying in collections. If you poke around a bit on eBay, there are some large sellers who buy in to resell.
Might be worth a few forward enquiries, giving them an idea of titles/years/condition, etc.
Graphic novels are easier to sell yourself, and if you feel like undercutting current Marketplace prices on Amazon, they should sell reasonably quickly. Most for name titles go well on eBay with buy-it-nows.
Personally I'd look to a comics dealer to shift individual issues (unless mini-series sets) and handle graphics novels / trade collections via Amazon or eBay. Depends on time and storage space, though.
Toys... you may find a comics / collectibles store that deals with vintage items, but probably not recent stuff.

hmmm post a bunch on this board and sell who's intrested first.Best First wrote:yes, i am half tempted to just bin them all. really.
storage is going to be £70 a month...
Also years ago Forbidden Planet would only buy collection's for their back issues. Using a reserve price on ebay would be good if your willing to wait a while for a decent price.
I'm still collecting G1 and as I'm almost finished with uni debts I've been getting more and more. I'll be intrested in whata G1 you have myself PM me or I'll visit the buy/sell forum.
Or you could just keep it all and maybe in 5 years time you'll be intrested again

Maybe Ikijigoku is interested in buying your TFs? Or maybe not, maybe he's no longer collecting either.
I've been thinking about selling my TF toys too. But then there's no point, really, since they're safely stored at my parents house, and I don't have that many (relatively speaking).
I could imagine you'd get more money in the end if you drop off a bunch of comics every few weeks at your local second hand comic store, instead of selling the entire batch in one go. Then again, I figure money's not the issue for you, so if you want to be done with them, one swoop is better.
It's strange. Three years ago, you'd easily have sold all those TF toys, and be a rich man, probably. Now it's a bit slow, not too good a market. I wonder how long it will take before the next real interest in G1 comes along? If ever?

Only worth storage costs until convention season next year if there's a lot of rarities, at a guess. Too late to wiggle into a table during Auto Assembly or similar?
