My keybaord is acting weird!

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

All the symbols have moved position since yesterday!

The @ is now where the " used to be and the backslash is nowhere to be found! And I have a £ above the 3 which should be a #

What can I do? :(

Sounds like you've switched to UK keyboard settings somehow...you need to go to Control Panel > Regional Settings > Languages, and in there you can set the default keyboard layout.

[edit]Found this on another site:
Changing the Windows Language and Input Language (keyboard).

-You may need your original 'Windows install CD' for the following steps.

Windows 97 & Win 2000
1. click 'Start' the 'Settings' then 'Control Panel' option, then 'Regional
Settings' icon.
2. under 'General' tab, ensure that 'Your Locale (location)' is set to
'English(United Kingdom)'.
3. click on the 'Input Locales' tab.
4. under 'Input Language' ensure that 'English(United Kingdom)' is set as the
default.
--If it is not:
---i) click on the 'Add' button - see 'Add Input Locale' dialog.
---ii) drop list and select 'English(United Kingdom)'.
---iii) Win 2000 - drop list of keyboards and choose 'United Kingdom'
---iv) click OK & reboot if asked.

Windows XP 2002
1. click 'Start' then 'Control Panel' then 'Regional Settings' icon (trad
layout).
2. under 'Regional Options' tab and under 'Standards and formats' ensure
'English(United Kingdom)' is selected.
3. click on the 'Language' tab.
4. click on the 'Details' button.
5. ensure that the 'English (United Kingdom) - United Kingdom' option is
selected under the 'Default input language'.
--If it is not available to be selected:
---i) click on the 'Add' button.
---ii) drop the list and select 'English(United Kingdom)'
---iii) drop the IME and choose 'United Kingdom'.
---iv) click OK.
...But substitute "Nederlands" for "English(United Kingdom)", obviously.
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!
