Is anyone here a Joinee?

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I know it must be tough, but please lead your own life! I can't be your role model, Brendocon!

I saw this site / project a year ago or something, looked interesting, but a bit "alright, so many people who want to do good in this world, but completely clueless on how to approach this. Including the "Leader"."

Now why would you want to organise kindness? Just be kind I say!

But really, it looks very sincere, and I do think I will want to read the book, and hear more. :)

Yeah, that was my thought, really. The idea of remembering to take a deep breath and resolving to be patient on a regular basis is a sound one, though... :)

True.

Can you buy the book at Waterstones and the like? I'm not a big
fan of shopping on the net. I'm getting used to it though.

Ditto.

Hey, if we've all been too lazy to join, why not all bring passport photos next time we go to the pub and bang em in an envelope?

Course, it might also help if we post said envelope at some point...

Thats a really good idea. I will happily take responsibility for posting the envelope - in fact i will even pay for the stamp. On a friday.

I just had some christians at the door.

Like i told them, I dont need anyone else to tell me whats right or wrong, and what I should do when it comes to doing good deeds.

Sheep.

so... where does your concept of morality come from?

Not that i'm big on Christianity, but the notion that all yoiur ideas of right and wrong are internally generated doesn't ring true with me.

For example i got some of mine from my mum. am i a sheep?

sorry - the christians at the door have wound me up.

Morality is interesting tho - as a child i fall and hurt my knee, I know that hurts, so pushing another child over must be? bad?
