Anyone know what the score is?

My mate has sent me a few eps of a show and shown me a place to find more.

Don't understand all the seed and tracker gobledy gook though.

here's what I know about torrents:

You need a program (mine's named Azureus), which has a limewire/kazaa/napster like interface. Then you go to certain sites which have torrents. The only one I know of has all South Park episodes, which have enriched my life in unimaginable quantities:

It's a quick download from the site, like a zip file.
Then you click and drag the torrent file into Azureus.
Then it downloads. This is the long download. From what my friend told me, it takes little pieces of the file it's downloading from multiple users and weaves them together on your computer so it's hard to nail down accountability.
And then you have your file.

And no, I don't know where to get the program. My friend got it off the 'net for me when I wasn't looking.

I prefer ABC, myself.

That's pretty much it. Rather than downloading a piece of information at a time from the host, you get a piece from the host and everyone else downloading it.
