If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

344,198 people petition Ashlee Simpson to shut it
Post

Yup that's right, according to the Toronto Star, the above number of people have signed an online petion on PetitionOnline.com asking Ashlee Simpson to "stop recording, touring, modeling and performing. We do not wish to see her again." It is currently the most popular petition on the site.
Funny but also sad as there are whole lot more worthy things deserving of a petition.

Or, stated in another way, it's sad that asking Ashlee Simpson to go away is one of the few things everyone can agree on.

Still blissfully ignorant.
Not watching TV is brilliant.

We're British, Rob, and the person that I am also unaware of outside this thread has probably not made any kind of mark this side of the Atlantic.
And long may it stay that way?

She's been on the tv and charted, I think the brits here are just good at turning the tv over and forgetting/ignoring stuff that is ****.
I know of her, she's on the same level as most of the crap music in the charts so I personally dont see what all the fuss is about.

So, you're saying she made her mark, and someone rubbed it straight out?
Who, then, is the Domestos of the charts?

It's so simple-y'don't like something, don't watch it. You don't want to know about this celebrity, don't pay attention when you see their **** being sold or see their face on the cover of a magazine.
Sometimes there are times when stuff is just shoved at you, yes... but unless you're extremely impressionable/have no other choice but to pay attention/feel like paying attention at that moment, for god's sake take some initiative, quityerbitching, get up and walk away from it!
People are just lazy is all... Or they just like bitching.
Everyone loves a good bitch now and again.
... And on that note, I hypocritically declare that Fred Durst needs to die. I say this while listening to a Limp Bizkit song on the radio. I like it. That is all.
Hooray for being human! My excuse for lovely, lovely contradiction. Have I mentioned how much pirates rock?

Ditto. But hearing that clip of the end of her at the Orange Bowl is still the most hilarious thing, cuz nothing beats 70000 ppl booing a hack like that. I almost wish I'd seen it so I coulda seen how proud of herself she was for one instant before the boos came down.
edit: Thank you, IronHide, that's some excellent work.
