I gave notice today

Feels such a relief. I don't have anything planned save a bar job in case I can't find anything in time but I'm confident and optimistic that things will work out. Leaving on good terms with everyone in the company too, which is the best thing.

And yeah, leaving on good terms is the best way to do it... Good on you for having something else lined up too. I almost quit without doing that myself, wasn't worried but wasn't too sure about things either.

It's kind of funny... a week after I was talked out of quitting right away (but still thinking about it) my ******* boss gave me a raise. Now I can't really find another job without being willing to take a big pay cut.

I was thinking about doing the same thing recently mate, but then the same thing happened to me as happened to Sadie... a payrise and it suckered me back.... i am weak...
actually i am broke...

Cool, good on you, Emvee.

When I quit my previous full-time job, they offered me more money also, proposed I'd work part-time like I had wanted to, etc. It's a strange position to be in. I just smiled and thanked them kindly. We're still on very good terms.

It's an awesome feeling.

But why did you decide to quit?

I'm quite happy with my job at the moment, just got offered a contract with the company instead of the employment agency like I have now, so that's good.
