Wenger buy some F###ING defenders. 2 or 3 at least. We got 10 mill. We should never have sold Upson. Bad f##king mistake now he is just lurking behind the england first teamers. Thats all we need to be europe's best, 3 decent defenders.
Still Toure gave us some hope. And I still get a warm fuzzy feeling knowing Spurs will probably never seee champions league football. [/Low blow]

I knew it would be a mistake by either a team, and to be honest I could see Maldini making one, and so it fell to Carol to spill the ball, and bam, Crespo was there. 1 - 0 AC Milan.
they were superb, United didnt take thier chances well, but it was facinating football to watch.
I think its far to much for United to do away, ie, score and win 2-0 to be honest.
bollox.

the way i see it.
Arsenal actually played against the Bayern, they ere just ***** in defence.
Milan and CHelsea never looked threaterning except for the odd counter, but par that to be honest Milan and barca just looked to be like utd and Chelski make most premm teams do. they looked in total controll.
sure a few counters etc, but they were never in complete control.
p.s. if i dont hope to much I can still win....

Another thing about Chelsea:
I think John terry is ******* great. Chelsea lost the game against Barca because once barca had the extra man, Rijkard stuck the extra player right ontop of Terry, to occupy him constantly - hence much harder to organise the team, hence goals conceded. Great thinking though.
So anyway, I'd drop Campbell and play Terry for England. I'd also make Terry captain. He is that good an organiser.
I'd probably play Bridge left back - Chelsea and Man U have the best defences, make the england defence out of both halves. Simple really.
Arguments for Bridge - good defender, plays with Terry all the time, great delivery. Solid if unspectaculr. Whilst Ashley Cole has had exceptional games for England, he oftne worries me - Castalan beat Cole several times in a 1 on 1, despite Coles pace. Cole is also balls in the air. England play more like Chelsea then Arsenal, Terry would organise the banks of 4 superbly, as he does week in week out at the bridge.
I'd probs drop beckham for SWP as well, play SWP on the right, Lampost, Gerrard and Downing on the left. Simple, BALANCED midfield.
Odd with Becks. He was consistlantly good at the very least for Sven's first 2 years, now he's consistently wank bar the odd good set piece delivery - which I think could be passed on to Gerrard without too many problems.

Wayne Bridge pisses all over Ashley Cole.
The only reason people give Cole more credit is because he came through at Arsenal and was immediately a big deal once he broke into the first team. Whereas Bridge came through at Saints. If any player of the exact same calibre of Bridgey had been spat into the Prem by Man Utd's youth academy, everybody would rave about him.

While I disagree with some of what you say about defence I'll 100% agree with the midfield arguement. Downing is clearly awesome and had he played for the top 5 (Arse, Man, Ski, Pool and New) would be in the team already. SWP needs a run. Sevn is still building the whole team around Beckham (for no good reason) when he should be building it around Gearrard and make the Big G captain.snarl wrote:

In defence I have found Ferdinand wanting some times this season. Campbell is solid whan fit. Rio looks good and I think Campbell has played with terry quite well already. Cole is still great for Arsenal and England and is clearly getting better while Bridge has leveled out. Both are good choicers and neither would be a problem.

Found Ferdinand wanting?
If Ferdinand had been available last season, I think Man U would have won the league.
Have you seen Utds defensive record sompared to him playing and him not? Ferdinad and terry can also actually *play football*, Campbell's distribution is ****, he's getting on now and is hampered by injuries.
Terry and Campbell both like to occupy the same position, I'd prefer Terry in it to be honest. I've not been 100% happy with him at international level, but with Mourinho now Chelsea coach, terry looks fantastic. He also scores far too many for a defender, he and Lampard on set pieces are phenomenal.
Also, on the strength of this season, I'd more or less consider Boro top 5 now anyway.

Agree. In terms of quality as a team they are better than the 'pool and castle but I mean in terms of big name teams. The only reason sh#t like Dyer are big names and in the england set up is due to the team he plays for not for his quality.snarl wrote:Found Ferdinand wanting?

For england he can go missing and in Utds big games at times. He just isn't there for vital defencive moments.
Terry has had some very nothing games for england, he still needs to convince me on international level though I believe the potential is there he still gets shown up on pace at times.
