I'm back in the Act-3D office, with the creators of Quest3D. My computer is in the storage room, though it's really just a nice office room which happens to hold all kinds of stuff - it's not like I'm sitting in a broom closet now.
Anyway, there's tons of stuff here - hundreds of burnable cd's, Quest3D manuals and t-shirts, paper, etc. Newest and coolest items: probably 50 or so USB memory sticks (128 MB), which will be the new version 3.0 hardware locks.
Quite tempting to pick one up, I'm positive they'd never find out!
But really, I would never steal anything. They'll probably give one to me anyway, if only because I'll get a Quest3D license in a month or so. These guys already bribed me with a Pocket PC too...
So how about you guys? Did you ever steal anything from the office? Or would you?

One of the best things I've done was at that supermarket.
We all got new schedules - and my schedule said that I was gonna start at 9 o'clock.
So I went to work and punched in - but the schedules at work wasnt updated, so according to work I wasnt gonna start until 13:00.
So I went home again - without punching out.
Yay! I got paid for being at home. Lovely.

Can't believe I'm still here.

i once um, acquired, a laptop...
it was just sitting in this drawer not being used because the boss had labelled it 'broken'... all it was was that the CD drawer was jammed with a windows NT installer disk in the drive, so whenever he turned it on, it tried reinstalling the OS (duh)... soon fixed that with a screw driver once i got it home.
but that was years ago... when i was young and foolish...

Well I help clear out clients' offices, so it's not really stealing if they're going to be getting rid of it, but...
3 PCs
Cambridge Soundworks speaker system (bass speaker, orbitals, speaker wires etc)
Chemical weapons suit & personal survival kit
2 gas masks
A few other bits and bobs...
The general rule of thumb is: will they notice if I take this stuff?
If the answer is no, then I just don't mention it.

Man the chemical weapons survival stuff and the gas masks (and the anti-radiation thyroid blocking pills etc) I could have got enough of that **** to equip a private army. I wish I'd just taken the whole lot of it home in a taxi and stuck it all on ebay, I'd be rich...as it is I just got enough for me and one other person...
...then I gave half of it to Charla to make sure that she'd be ok in Mexico in case of emergencies

Yes. Dylan actively hopes they will notice so he can laugh in their stupid faces.Dylan wrote:The general version of your statement seems widely applicable.Metal Vendetta wrote:The general rule of thumb is: will they notice?

I myself completely don't live by such a philosophy, but that's not the point.
The swine.

If I wanted to I could make off with anything in our restaurant short of steaks. We do a nightly inventory of all the steaks in the building which is counted by the night manager and then double checked by the kitchen manager. Any discrepencies are then checked by the proprietor.
But anything else in the restaurant would be fair game if I wanted it. ESPECIALLY when Im the kitchen manager. Good thing Im honest huh?

If stuff is getting thrown out then I'm such a magpie...at the gf's pub the other week they were getting rid of loads of stuff, so I got a barbeque set, a set of wood-and-iron outdoor furniture (5 chairs and a table), a bar stool, a couple of ashtrays, speaker cable...hell of a time getting it all back on the tube
I would have waited a ******* eternity for this!!!!
