I just feel like shouting it from the rooftops.
Was fun once, despite what I had to do... but now it just sucks. Everyone's become so grim during the day... they took our music and I'm getting sick of having to deal with narrowminded [composite word including 'f*ck'] all day.
So I'm telling them to take it and shove it! And then I'm going to ask if I can use them as a reference.
Whoohoo!

Yeah, the new policies are making everything really strict, it just sucks. The atmosphere was much more relaxed when I first started, but now it's like... crap. everyone's constantly pissed off, and no amount of money's worth putting up with some idiot hanging over your shoulder trying to tell you how to do a job they've never done themselves, or telling you to move faster, or whatnot...
They can all bite me. I have another job in mind... easy work, I may get to draw using a computer all day. Hopefully it's still open... not sure how much it pays, but it sounds like fun.
If not, I'll just keep looking. Not worried a bit.

You sound just like the person who talked me out of quitting.fort_max wrote:Um, may I suggest finding a new job before quitting your current one?
Bah.
So yeah... I'm stickin' with. At least until I'm dead sure I have another thing to go into... Add to the above that we're understaffed at the moment and it gets pretty damn frustrating sometimes.
If there's one plus to it, it's that it is steady work.

I walked out on my last job (back in 2000) because I was sick of the way they treated people. Not the smartest idea, but it felt good at the time.
Downside was I didn't find another job for awhile, but when I did, it was a good 'un and I'm still there.
It also helped that I hadn't moved out so I didn't have too many expenses, and had saved a bit up.
Here endeth my tale.
Good luck Sadie.

I quit my job end of 2004 because it's a new company and they are starting to breathe down my neck pushing me to get them sales. I don't have problem with that per se but it's a tiny company and since they don't offer bonus, dental, or 401k and I get overtime a lot without OT pay it's like, hey there's got to be tons of companies out there that are way better. Sure the coworkers are supercool and bosses aren't all that bad but I just turn 30 and I dont want to waste it on a company that may not last that long. It's a good decision for me cuz I get to spend few weeks in taiwan chilling out and enjoy some good food. I do miss working a lot and I hope I will land one soon after I get back to the states. Good luck Sades I hope you will find a new job soon too.

Oh, I already know what I'm going to say, that's not a problem. "Right now, I have the oppertunity to go in another direction, etc etc" bit.fort_max wrote:
Trust me. I've done the exact same thing before, and it never ends well.
Besides, working there a little longer gives you time to plan out exactly what you want to say to your boss.
Not too sure I want to quit now, tbh. More advice I've gotten has been "It's the time when you feel that you really want to give up on something that you don't give up on it." Which is interesting and not altogether bad advice, but imo it really depends on the situation.
Or maybe I really am just a stubborn ****** who insists upon learning everything the hard way, I don't know.
Ehhhh, decide to leave sooner rather than later, I know I'm not going to be there forever. Much thanks for the talkings of similar experiences, support and advice, you guys. Is appreciated.
Hm. Infinitely nicer than anything I ever had to say toward the end...saysadie wrote:Oh, I already know what I'm going to say, that's not a problem. "Right now, I have the oppertunity to go in another direction, etc etc" bit.
Well, I'd certainly agree that it's good advice generally, but I don't think it is in this instance. I'm of the mind that there's really no reason to work in a place you despise any longer than necessary. Could it improve? Sure. But God knows when it will, and if you've got something better lined up, you owe it to yourself. Not too sure I want to quit now, tbh. But I'm not exactly the best role model...
Either way, best of luck.
