I'm making a little tactics thingy for my footy team, thought I might as well put it here as well...
Righty ho. The object of the exercise is to switch play and use the width on the other side. The LB has just collected the ball...
As the left back is closed down by the opposition winger, the rest of the defence are required to find space to play in.
They drop off. Having found space, the available CBs call for the ball. The left back now has several options. He can play backwards of square to at least 2 players in space. No problems.
The recieving players controls with their right foot, opening their body. The ball is gradually played across the backline, reaching the rightback.
The right back controls with his right instep, his second touch is 'laces out' to nudge the ball infront of him. Their are acres infront, so he then shoots off into the open space. Any wingers infront charge off, taking markers with them and creating more space for the fullback to run into.
fussball!
