Since yesterday my computer display has been failing from time to time. The screen goes haywire, with garbage pixels everywhere. Within moments, it's so bad I have to reset my computer.
What's that all about then eh? I don't think it's my monitor, since it displays its start up image nice and sharp.
Graphics card? Just updated to the latest ATI drivers, maybe that'll fix it.
I installed 3d Studio Max 7 the other day, maybe that's when it started?
Also running virus and spyware checkers now.
Man, using a computer sucks without a screen.

u say u just updated the drivers? try a roll back to the earlier versions?
when u say the screen gos haywire do u mean,
a, it displays parts of the screen information all over the place. like the bottom corners ends up in the top corner?
b, is this in WoW - like you get bits of scenery sort of floating in front of you?
or
c, does the screen flicker, like lines go across it, as if its electrical?
or of course none of the above
a, is the driver,
b, is ATI cards
C, is somthing I have that rights itself as the system gets hotter! - also because I wired a big capacitor onto my G card after blowing one stupidly!

My display's totally garbaged, and I don't know why. The fan on my ATI Radeon 9800 pro seems to be working properly. Also, whenever I turn on my machine, the distortion instantly sets in. It sucks big time, let me tell you...
Gonna try to locate the problem tomorrow at a friend's place, he's got an old computer with a few components we could try swapping.
Else I'll have to bring my machine back to the store to have it repaired. Seriously annoying, since I'm pretty much dependant on it for work. Just started a new freelance job too.
It's causing way too much stress, and it seems so futile. I might have to find another job, one without computers. Right now that sounds blissful.
Well, on the plus side, I'll be visiting a company in Norway next week, give a bit of Quest3D software training and discuss the details of the assignment. Looking forward to that.
And sider - thanks for the heads up. Hope you had fun today with the final round of auditions, I hope you find the right people for your movie.
Take care everyone.
Dylan out.
