Iraq elections

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Iraq elections

Post by Impactor returns 2.0 » Sat Jan 29, 2005 6:37 am

well its pretty mad, after whats gone on, its actually gonna take place.
I wonder what will happen after the elections?
either way someone is gonna be elected, so what do these terroists do next? there main focus is stopping ppl from voting? whats that all about anyway?, so will they just hit randomly afterwards?

terroism really sucks ass, sorry if that sounds a bit simple, but the concept that a group of ppl can influence another group through violence is really ****.
where will it all lead.

Out ofinterest, in the ukrain we saw that election over turned due to it being reigged, and ****, is the election in Iraq even fair? - not for the ppl but by democratic standards.

They're having an election with war zones still dotting the country.

They're having an election with most Sunnis disenfranchised because they live within said designated war zones.

They're having an election because if they do, they can say, "See, there's democracy in Iraq! There's freedom in Iraq! We did a good thing."

like invading a country that is no threat to you?

57% turnout - but voting fractured along 'tribal' lines - poor Sunni turnout, so could still be trouble.

Plus watch the US and UK leg it asap.

as suuni extreamists threatern violence for voting, thier own supporters didnt vote, and now dont have a politcal standing, thus shooting themselves in the foot.

other things i like.

Blowing up ppl to make the USA go away, well they cant leve if u blow things up. if u stopped blowing things up they could leave.

As for legging it. cant see it happening for at least 1 year. raggi omah was on this breakfast show today and he was talking about how soon, he rekons 10-12months, as its not just the army but lots of support. for example we have britsh coppers over thier teaching forensics etc...

what i still dont get, maybe im stupid. but this war for 'oil' hasnt lowered oil prices yet.
and according to anylysts it never would.
so if it wasnt for oil or WMD, what was it for. just to piss ppl off?
strange world.

Why would they lower oil prices? No need to give a reasonable price on their recently aquired cash-cow.

Wonder if the masses proclaiming us (the US that is) as 'Liberators' have gathered yet. :eyebrow:

The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

it wouldnt have changed oil prices either way, but alot of ppl belived the US went into Iraq to get cheap oil. but its not getting cheap oil, its getting more expensive oil.
I dont get it, what was this war for?
Oil - well it doesnt look that way.
WMD - clearly not.

Or was it, perhaps they seriously thought he did have WMD and they did just get it wrong?

I'm sure the oil that powers their war machines is coming a bit cheaper these days.

No need for the people who control the oil (Bush/Chaney) to consider a lower price to the American public. They're (we're) their best paying consumers.

Anyone see Shrub's dadoo fork over some cash to put in the collection plate the other day since he wouldn't reach for his own wallet? Priceless! [/works on so many levels]
