Hey friends,

I'd love to update the picture site, but perhaps it's time to convert it to a database driven page. Especially since we have a solid structure for it right here at Transfans.net already.

Strafey, could you help out? I'd enjoy getting a bit more experience with MySQL and php, but knowing me, I won't be able to commit myself to this at this moment in time.

What gets me about Sixy's pic is that it's not updated to simply be Sixshot.

My Transfans pic needs updating; the Archive pic is only about five weeks old, so if anyone's curious, that's the one that I really look like right now. Cropped out to my left on said pic is G91.

Well, we've offered to bring the TFArchive photo page onto the main site IIRC, but people seem to prefer having it at a slight distance...

I'd say it's as simple as create another field in the user profile table, and an extra .php page that displays all users with a picture.

Yeah, but people also want to feel that they could change things if they wanted...

Adding a field also requires adding that field to any and all pieces of code that create or modify records in the user table. That's why the custom rank hack is so needlessly complicated.

However, the tables could be crosslinked—have a single-field table with the field "board_id" in it. Name the files according to "board_id" and stick them together in a directory. Then query the forum tables for any additional information required.

yeah it would be cool if in your board profile page had an option to upload an image to the board photo page... etc...

it would then be in gallery form with a hit counter onit, so u can search by most viewed etc. - the members page also has thumbnail link.

messages and ratings can be added to each picture much like other BB message boards gallery pages...

The page auto-generated from a separate but index-linked table is a damn sight easier to do... it just calls for someone to rename the files first.
