Been in Japan for three days now. A few disappoints. I had a bunch of old spots for vintage Transformer that I wanted to hit. Namely six. Unfortunately, I havent visited Japan in almost eleven years. A lot has changed. One of these spots closed down. Another just shut the doors the day I arrived. This was the same place that I got my Grand Maximus. I know for a fact shes got a bunch of vintage, but she wont let me in. Two other toy stores have completely converted to Video game stoers. Bremen, the store I got my original Convoy, Sludge and Snarl 12 years ago had a few. Unfortunately their oldest Transformers are from the Beat Wars era. They had some pretty goods ones too. I picked up a RM Convoy with CD, RM Starscream, RM Mirage, RM Skyfire, RM Victory Saber, SL Kicker and 2 reissue Blitzwings (just came out today). Ive visted tons of Department stores also. A few have a very small toy department if any. It seems that toys do not sell well here. If there is any toys, it limited to baby toys, Legos, dolls, and Ultraman. The only boy toys I see everywhere are Legos, Ultraman, a weird bug thingy, and Gundam models. I did see a few SL here and there. The seires just started last week on TV. THey are expensive too. I did pick up a Grand Convoy, and Galvatron for half off ($25 a piece).
Bremen had a few red Thrust but I passed. They had a good selection of Beast Wars, Binal Tech, reissues, SL, Armada, and reissues. THey were pretty steep, since they were all marked for retail. Reissues were mostly 3000¥ ($30). The Insecticon set was 3600¥($36) . Binal Tech was 5000¥ ($50), and Predaking was 15000¥ ($150). GF Prime and Megs were a whooping 5000¥. It appears that it is cheaper to buy from BBTS of ebay. I never would have thought that retail prices within Japan are higher than the online prices. Availabilty sucks too. The differences in the size of toy sections from 10 years ago is a little depressing. I kind of blame the video game market. It has changed the way kids use their imagination. Kids depend on the video game developers for their imagination now a days. Its a shame. From what Ive seen so far here, toys may become a thing of the past. This doesnt look good for Takara.
I also picked up the deluxe Transformers Generation book, and two new books that just came out. One was a collectors guide for RM and various Transformers and the other is a newer G1 collectors guide with a small sneak peak at GF.

Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.
