Ok, so everyone knows Jessy and the kids are in Louisiana until further notice (hoping around the 26th). Jessy and I agreed that since they wouldnt be here then we would just have Christmas when they got back. Ive been catching the after holiday sales and have gotten some cool things for the kids, but I really think I got the best thing for Jessy. A tree.
I know that sounds lame, but for the first 3 years we were together we only ever had a 2 foot tree and shes always wanted a big holiday tree. Well I happened to be walking through Big Lots last week and saw this GIANT tree for only 15 bucks, prelit and everything. I jumped on it. I havent told her about it because I want it to be a surprise.
Yes, Ive gotten her other things, but as silly as it sounds, this is what Im most proud of. We never have alot of money so everything I get for them comes from the heart.
Is this ok?

Let's see. More than one gift? Check. One gift insightful, thoughtful, and from the heart? Check. Yup, yer good.
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Sounds good. Others has and will elaborate on your toughtfullnes better than I, but it sounds like your a very lucky and toughtfull man.
But how come you always have little money? I thought you were a boss, a manager, a slightly bigger man the other grunts at your firm. And you also live in america, thereby even though you are poor, are still a tiny wee pinch more rich than a european dude, in a similar setting. It can't be that bad, no?

Bro, don't come here looking for approval or justification. That comes from you, and from the sound of it, you've got it all wrapped up.Optimus Prime Rib wrote:Is this ok?

Im an hourly manager (re: wage slave) who is married with 2 kids. Wife doesnt work aside from a couple of hours a week at my moms restaurant. I make more per HOUR than others I work with, but they get more hours because we pay them less, makes sense in a sick sort of way. I get the stress, but not the money. This is all a stepping stone to my long term goal of owning my own restaurant and knowing what the hell Im doing. I now know how to run labor, ordering, and how to fix equipment/who to call if I cant fix it. Few more years and Ill be ready with my presentation model for investors.Predabot wrote:Sounds good. But until then, I get a decent check (by non college grad standards), and if things go according to schedule, I will be a salaried manager within the year.
Heres the rundown:
Hourly - >$20k/year
Hourly Management- roughly $25k/year
Salaried Management- $30k to $35k/year
Managing Partner- $45k/year PLUS 10% of the bottom line. (partners take home at least 100k/year EASILY)
SO if I hold on and keep working hard one day I will be doing alright. Until then.. I hate my life lol.

get a job ya bum! If I could go back in time and meet the old me Id say "OI! PUT THE BEER DOWN AND GET TO CLASS!" but then again, the universe works in mysterious ways and had I not gotten kicked outta college I wouldnt have been at the party I met Jessica at. And what I make is **** when you compare it to my cost of living. Oh well, thats life. Like I said, long term plans. Im just glad that I am entertained by toys that cost less than 20 on average and have this remarkable ability to beat any game before the return date.
