I talked during the silence.

There's a big supermarket right next to my work.
Me, and the other people that work here, always go and shop for lunch there.
Right before we enter the supermarket, I start telling my friend a hilariously funny story.
So I'm laughing when we enter the supermarket.
After about ten meters I'm still laughing and telling the story.
After another ten - fifteen meters I notice that everyone is quite, and that they are standing still.
Everybody's staring at me like this " "
So I slow down, and stop. And I say to my friend "What the hell is going on? I wanna go buy lunch".
Then there's a message from the speaker "Ding dong. Thanks for the silent minute, bla bla".
My friend was really embarrassed
Oh well, I didn't know that there was a silent minute.

And yes, I'm always doing stuff like this.

Would be cool if the entire planet were silent for a full three minutes, at the same time. Shut down all unnecessary machines etc. Just be still.

Ah, who's talking, I had my lunch in an empty and lights out caffeteria, since my Internship closed early today, and everyone whent home for grub instead, except me, when the silent 3 minutes was on.

On the other hand I didn't say anything, and tried to cleanse my thoughts for a minute and think about the devastation, didn't work that well tho, had to catch the buss and almost forgot my empty lunch-box.

Didn't know there was one. Not exactly surprising, as I haven't watched TV since Christmas and don't read newspapers often.
