I think the best name I have heard recently is:

best band name before that was:

Awesome, they're one of my favourite bands, and if you get the chance to see them live, you absoutely must go. Their live set rocks der casbah.

And the muso-pedant in me would like to point out that it's properly ...And You Will Know Us By The Trail Of Dead.

Another good one is Add (N) To X

Realistically, I think the bands with the best names were the ones that turned up on John Peel's show.
