**** United (+ ref) V Spurs

Now I never played pro, but I think the rules for pro footy are the same as amatuer footy.
Only... I thought that when the ball crosses the line, a goal is scored?
SO WHY THE [composite word including 'f*ck'] DID WE GET ****?!?!?!?!?

Nonono - when the ball crosses the line, it's out of play. And a goal can't be scored if the ball's out of play.snarl wrote:Only... I thought that when the ball crosses the line, a goal is scored?
Or when the referee's too busy trying to get Sir Alex's balls out to play. Or something.
Grrr. Argh.

Scapegoat, I think.Obfleur wrote:What happened to Tim Howard?
Ever since Schmeichel left, any dip in Utd's form seems to get blamed on the goalie. The next time he makes any sort of mistake he gets dropped, frozen out and not heard from again.
Standards are too high there or something.
I think they should bring back Taibi. He was great. Though not for them, obviously...
Grrr. Argh.
To be fair, Tim Howard is **** and did cost United a lot of points as well CL proress purely by being individually **** on a number of occasions.
The funny thing is...
There is absolutely no way Howard should have been eligable for a Work Permit, as he is indeed **** and had played nowhere near the amount of games needed to be deemed eligable.
At the same time he signed for United, Spurs tried to sign an established US international and his WP was turned down.
Funny that, eh?
Or not.

If Kanoute and Defoe are fit, the bus wont be parked.
We'll drive it at them.
I'd take just Kanoute to be honest, he is on fire since Jol took over.
Carrick to score his first soon as well. Hanson was loving him yesterday.
Oh yeah, this is mildly funny: Old Teddy Sheringham was clubbing it till late on NYE, he's a model pro dont ya know! My mates collared him for a drunken chat and got their pictures taken on cameraphone.

If you watch closely - United has about 5 players sitting on spurs back line, the linesman ruuns forward as united hoof it up field. mendiatazazaaz recives the ball for spurs, linesman and reff are on the halfway line. mendz hoofs back towards carrol, who at first appears to catch it easily. I think linesman actually looks away as it seems so obvious that Carrol has caught the ball. as he turns away carrol spills it (hwo the [composite word including 'f*ck'] do u do that?) and it gos in.
the lines man and ref were postiond correctly in all fairness for where the action was taking place on the pitch . but its a good example of why u need a goal mouth camera....at least.
