I was wondering the other day... does anyone of you feel slightly disappointed that 2005 isn't filled with Transformers?spiderfrommars wrote:It is the year 2005... the treacherous Decepticons have conquered the Autobots' home planet of Cybertron. But, from secret staging grounds on two of Cybertron's moons, the valiant Autobots prepare to retake their homeland!
Of course, it's just a cartoon. And of course, even if it wasn't, Transformers would have been present on Earth since 1984.
But somehow I ever so slightly felt a same kind of disappointment (or relief) as perhaps readers of '1984' felt in 1984.
Even though I myself am not a real Transformers fan anymore, that one sentence has had a special meaning for me for decades now.
"It is the year 2005..."
