If you want to donate to the earthquake-tsunami fund

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

The death toll is estimated currently at 120,000 and is set to rise. Estimates say the final toll will hit six figures. UN officials say its the biggest natural disaster ever!

I donated £50. I can barley afford it, especially at this time of year, but I felt others need it more. A hard month for me is copeable and I can push the odd bill payment untill feb. I hope it's used well.

I heard this morning that the total raised by the UK public stood at £32 million which is very encouraging. :) I do plan to contribute.

I have an idea that I know wouldnt come to fruition but I think its great.

I wish every lottery in the world would take this weeks jackpot and dump it into a world relief fund. One week a year we should do this. Who would bitch about it? I know a LOT of states have lotteries. Michigan's is up to 58 million now I think. Thats just ONE state.

Its just an idea

just said on BBC1 news the public raised £43 million and the Gov sent £50 of course.

I went nuts at the daily mail today, they had a 'role of honour' for rich ppl like Sharon Osbourne who gave £25'000 ....

[composite word including 'f*ck']! that pissed me off, our public, the ppl of the UK have given £43 million. we have given what we can where we can. im not saying what Sharon gave was to lil, but she gave what she could. but why does the Daily mail have to make a role of honour? - ugh....

on the first day they said Tony Blair gave a poxy £1million, when it was always £50 - guess what they didnt say he just gave £50 mill did they?

must they turn it into some ******* politcal ******** every time? - controversiol story telling on the deaths of hundreds of thousands?

Im so sick of the daily mail I shall never look at that paper again.
