If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Happy another year. Other than drinking, is there really a point to celebrating New Years?
Muchas gracias to Mob for the Sig, proving why he's called 'King'.
The "i" in "Señior" from "Señior's Covenant" is intentional and part of a stupid & cheesy inside joke from '02. Thank you for your concern.

Never seen the point to New Year's myself, we're essentially celebrating turning the calender over o_O
But then again you are talking to the guy who slept through the Millennium
Best wishes and love to everyone for next year.

It's a celebration of the fact that our planet managed to successfully complete another full orbit from an arbitrarily-designated point without us all dying.
If nothing, I'm gonna be getting smashed out of my mind purely as celebration of the fact that I'll have a full three days to get rid of the resultant hangover.
Yes, that logic is far from flawless. Don't feel the need to dwell on it. I'm in a Mad Brick mood - don't question, just accept!
Grrr. Argh.

Cos Shockwave did it?
But the planet hasn't even completed 1 exact orbit of the sun- the calender is innaccurate

Happy new year everyone!!
Since about 30 minutes local time the year 2005 has begun! Now all of you yanks look out, cause I've heard that there might be some fuss scheduled to happen at that big-ass alien robotic city that you got over there!
My mom and "my" buddy went to central, to get drunk, but since I'm a absolutist I changed my mind and didn't come.
I don't wanna hang at no bar and watch em get saggy and then hoist em home.
However my sis who's in Switserland just called and said happy new year, that there's supposed to be a really big fireworks with some specatcular stuff scheduled for tonight. Too bad, that would been cool to watch.

Tell, tell!
Especially some of your episodes from outside of UK.(Northern Ireland is kewl too
) The Netherlands are supposed to have some interesting laws and traditions, judging from pop culture and the WWW, on the subject too.
Did ya ever visit Dylan Impy?

Hey, visiting Dylan (and the other Dutch folks) is more fun than a bouncy castle full of scantily-clad beautiful people.
I know, I was that soldier.
