Its that damn super syrum that they injected into his dad in the 60s so that he could be a better sol-*cough* football player.. thats why Archie is the greatest player to ever wear a Saints Jersey. Eli will be the same way. Cooper would have been had it not been for a neurological disorder.

oh please...I get so sick of the Peyton Manning lovefest. The guy is a prick that has little concept of helping his team get better. That team will never win a title without a defense. There is no forthcoming Superbowl ring and he'll go out the same way Marino did.elllsss82 wrote:I'm telling ya, imagine how DAN MARINIO feels? He has to watch PEYTON break his record every week. Peyton is special player minus a forthcoming Superbowl ring. I dont think we'll see anything like this in our generation for a long time.........
If he was half the god the media holds him up to be, he'd be like Tom Brady and re-structure his contract to give the Colts the money to buy a cornerback who can actually cover someone or a linebacker who knows how to tackle. He destroyed a depleted Bears team...how many games has he won against the more powerful defenses? Did he beat New England? Nope...can he beat New England? I doubt it...being a former offensive player it pains me to admit this...but great defense always finds ways to stop great offense.
As far as the greatness that is Peyton Manning...I'd dare say that if we give Mike Vick a few years, that man could frighten us with how good he will be. The bottom line though, I don't care how many fricking TD's Manning can throw, he hasn't won a big game yet...guys like Favre and Elway had the big stats like Manning. What makes them bigger than him is that they have actually won something.

Vick is a running back who hasnt figured it out yet because he wants all the glory. His qb accuracy is crap and he is the LAST person to put 'the team over himself'.
Peyton has taken all the criticisms with a grain of salt and fought through it. No, he hasnt won 'the big game' yet. But I dont think its impossible for him. He is not solely responsible for his big contract. The team offered it to him. Brady is not NEARLY as good as people make him out to be.
If QB's didnt get credit for YAC, Peyton on an average game would be 25-31, 250 yds.. Brady would be 20-25 10 yds.. His recievers are what makes that offense work, not Brady. Also having Corey Dillon doesnt hurt.
Opens up the pass game INCREDIBLY when you have a premier RB.
now if only my Saints would CATCH the ball.

I said Vick could frighten us...he has one of the biggest arms in the league and is in his first year in a West Coast system, in the next couple years I firmly believe he will be scary.Optimus Prime Rib wrote:Vick is a running back who hasnt figured it out yet because he wants all the glory. What part of your ass did you pull these numbers? If we want to compare players around the QB...Edge James at RB (one of the elite in the NFL) Marvin Harrison at WR (one of the top 2 WR in the NFL) then we add Marcus Pollard, Brandon Stokely and Reggie Wayne. You are trying to tell me that the Receivers and stud running back isn't what makes the Colt offense work? Please...Brady is not NEARLY as good as people make him out to be.

The bottom line is that Peyton Manning is a great fantasy QB. If I want to win the Superbowl, give me the guy that has won two of the last three. He's done that with no running game and average receivers at best. This is the same system that couldn't win when Bledsoe was still a top flight QB. Brady took them to the next level. It is this thing called being a leader and making the system function better. Manning will always have great numbers, he calls the plays so he will make sure he has great numbers. But I would still rather have Brady back there at Qb if I have to face Baltimore's defense.

Bradys recievers and offensive line are what get it done for him. Manning has the same deal. Its Kurt Warner Syndrome. In his golden days Warner could have sat in a lawnchair and waited for the perfect time to throw the ball. I COULD HAVE LOOKED LIKE A STAR. So if you really want to talk about the star of these teams, look to the offensive lines.
Michael Vick cant take a hit. His career will be over within 5 years. Bet on it. Whats scary was before last season I had predicted that Vick would get laid out by Baltimore. Sure enough it happened August 16th.. My birthday hehe.

I dunno how many time I've heard this about a player and they went on to be one of the best players in history.Optimus Prime Rib wrote: Michael Vick cant take a hit. I must be missing who these elite receivers Brady has to pass to are. I'm sorry, are we considering Troy Brown, Deon Branch and David Patten to be top flight receivers in the NFL suddenly? When you look at the playoff teams in football there isn't a more average group than the Patriots Receving group.Optimus Prime Rib wrote:Bradys recievers and offensive line are what get it done for him.
Secondly, how many great quarterbacks are there period without having a good O-Line? They don't live long enough in the league without a line. Is Brady a Favre or an Elway? I can't say that yet, but he reminds me a lot of Troy Aikman. He's a solid QB, who is very intelligent with the football, makes great decisions and is a leader. Why do I place him above Manning? If I need a QB to take me to the next level, to remain calm no matter what, to be a clutch guy, I want Brady over Manning.
