Fable

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

I heard that it was pretty broad (lot's of stuff to do) but not too deep.

Looks real nice, but as one review said - the game let's you be responsible for a lot of the satisfaction you get out of it. The main story is just 10 hours or so, if you really want to make the most out of it, you should try and do all the side quests. You can also talk to most people, but there's no real conversations (just chit chat). You can become either good or evil, but you can instantly buy your way out in a temple. (What's that all about? Sounds pretty strange).

I do think that it is going to be a very nice game to play and look at. But perhaps not as truly special as it could have been.

Expected score: 8.2 (which is very good of course).

Yeah I'm really looking fwd to Fable. I hope its open-endedness isn't its undoing though.

I just have no idea where I will fit it in inbetween Burnout3, Halo 2, Paper Mario, Metroid and Prov Evo 4 online later this year!

I'm not sure, I was excited up until I read the reviews and found out that they didn't implement even half the things they claimed they were going to do. Disappointing considering they were still making these claims long after the game had gone gold and reviewers had copies, so they were basically lying.

However, I do need to put this new DVD burner to good use and I'm not paying for broadband for nuthin'...

I read a review saying that they didnt get to put in alot of things they wanted, but regardless of that. the game was still pretty darn cool.

good replay value.

Just beat it. Wound up being a fit and trim 59 year old Good Hero called 'DeathBringer' by the citizens of the land.

Married

Own a few houses, no businesses yet.

NOW its time to play with the open endedness. It allows you to keep playing like GTA. SOO I am now running around with no clothes on and binge drinking and eating as much red meat as possible. I actually got rewarded for that by a Demon Door. Also have caused about 60 people to fall in love with me (men and women) and they all want engagement rings.. But they get the cheap fake ones MUAHAHA or they get Black Roses and then get the beat down. I pay off guards and the people still love me. Im thinking of having my title changed to Arseface though and going completely evil.

as it stands when people stop cheering me I kill a few trolls or undead and I am loved again.

This game could have been SO much better. I think the funniest thing about it was in the credits they showed just how long they took to develop this game

"Children born during production" there were about 25 honestly
"Takeout eaten during production" there was about 6.5k thats alot...

Yeah, they took a LONG time and it came up a bit short. I would give it a 7.5 out of 10.. I would recommend it for a rental. Or wait until it is on sale.

Fable 2 - Xbox 2

with the features they couldnt include.

what they suggested in the begining was a bit far fetched to be honest. even by Peter Molyneux stupidly high standards.

Needless to say I played a fair bit of on rental and enjoyed it.

but to me, ill just play an online rpg and then truly is open ended.
