Convention Speeches

If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

Convention Speeches

Post by Powermaster Optimus Prime » Thu Sep 02, 2004 5:46 am

Well, night 3 of the RNC wrapped up a few hours ago. For those who have been following, who do you think had the most effective speech?

I thought Arnold did a great job but I think not even the President will top Miller's speech. What a great delivery. I was disappointed that McCain was a bit dull.

I thought Cheney's speech was an appalling piece of scarmongering.

He might as wel have got up there and said "If you vote for Kerry, the bogey man will get you. Booga Booga Booga!"

tosser.

Really? I didn't think it was too bad. As far as being negative, I thought Giuliani was the worst. I did like Cheney's line about John Edwards:

"People tell me that Senator Edwards got picked for his good looks, his sex appeal, and his great hair. I say to them - how do you think I got the job?"

Zell Miller's speech was so full of ridiculous statements it was insane.

Kerry stopped the F-14? Cheney and the DOD were the ones who plunged the knife in the F-14 program..

FFS...

Can't wait for the Cheney/Edwards debate. The charismatic lawyer vs the scaremonger.

It's an angry man yelling at the crowd for 20 minutes! How is that effective for anyone not a diehard Republican?

Miller's outrageousness is going to alienate 2 undecided voters for every voter he gains for Bush.

No idea how he could fight another war unless he institutes the draft and increases the military by 300%. We have huge chunks of our ground forces in Iraq, what are we gonna do to Iran or NK?

He could do it like with previous wars and promise citizenship. Plenty of illegals. If you dont care about your own, even less about the others.
