If the Ivory Tower is the brain of the board, and the Transformers discussion is its heart, then General Discussions is the waste disposal pipe. Or kidney. Or something suitably pulpy and soft, like 4 week old bananas.

This thread has really taken on a life of it's own. Gotta be one of the best, since I've been here anyway.

I'm going to have to remember it because it exemplifies the kind of thing you can only find on Transfans. A thread started by Rib about American politics segwaying into the mandatory religious debate and womens rights/gender roles discussion now segwaying into my marriage debacle. What, oh what, could be next?

All on a board dedicated to the Transformers.

Viva la Transfans!
"But the Costa story featuring Starscream? Fantastic! This guy is "The One", I just know it, just from these few pages. "--Yaya, who is never wrong.

believe it or not yaya, there was kind of a formula for this type of epic thread.

Used to happen a lot back in the day before I blew up and left for a couple of years.Went something like this:

1.OPR posts some sort of ambiguous half drunk/half intelligent rant.
2.Smooth replies with something contradictory.
3.Impy comes along, argues both sides of the issue, and then decides we are both stupid.
4. Snarl comes along and cleans up the mess left by the previous 3.
5. OPR sobers up, apologizes, rationalizes his thoughts and makes more concise points.
6.Besters comes in and tells me "Its all good man, now quit being a ****"
7.Emvee comes in and tears down all sides and kicks us all in the arse.
8.Drinks are suggested
9.Aaron Hong comes along and adds latest drama to his 970000000 page fanfic.
10. Predabot says "I LIEK PIE" and we all do a massive facepalm and start over.

Wait a second, when did I go from being OPR to Rib?

Jeez, Ya, I didn't know that you had actually split up with "Unicron." Sorry to hear it. Sounds like a ****storm the likes of your own personal Katrina. Good for you for taking the high road. I think I would have been much nastier. You're much better off not having kids with the lady, and having them with someone more agreeable to your ideas and personality (as wacky as we all may think those are :) ).

We can get together at a pub with the other Transfans and be the teetotalers watching them get drunk in your honor.

Or have a glass full of spare change near their beds. That they don't have.

Where was I during all these?

Actually, I think I either avoided the religion threads or gently argued against everyone, given that even when I was devout Mormon I was a devil's advocate.

ROFL Paul, KaeLynn saw your avatar and said "Daddy, is that Iron Man?" I said "No punkin that is supposed to be Optimus Prime." She replies with "Well that is just terrible." And I say 'Thats Pat Lee's best work!"

Her response:
"Then he needs to do something else and not mess up Optimus Prime"

B-b-B-b-b..b-BUT I LIKE PIE!!!! >_<

Image

Mmm... just look at that crust... the juicy apple-pieces... the cinnamon...

I've eaten so much pie tonight, that I can scarcely move! My gut is aching like an elephant caught in Snarls old liquor bottle from last night! But it's a good kind of pain... it's the pain of joy... :D

I like Pie. :) I really do.
