Re: Moving to Tokyo

Good stuff. I guess we're practically neighbours now then (well, Chiba's not exactly Tokyo but it is Kanto). Which area are you in?

When you see this movie, you have to go in with a focus on the visual aspect of it, looking past the dialogue that's geared to a younger audience. This is my problem with Star Wars these days, even the fanbase's main argument seems to be, "its good if you look past all of the really rubbish stuff"....

Ok, I want to reply to some of your points, but can we just be clear on one point, I didn't start in on Islam at any point, I was talking about your personal opinions as you expressed them as an individual, not as a member of a religion. If some of what I'm about to say comes across as harsh then, w...

Well, I'm one of the almost 30 crowd here, so none of my comments come from being "an adventurous young whippersnapper". They come from experience (not all personal, thank god, some of it is observed), and experience tells me that boredom is one of the quickest ways to a relationship not working out...

I'm inclined to disagree. The more differences, the more strengths you can bring to the table. Break-ups with someone who doesn't have the same first language do tend to lack subtlety, and that's speaking as someone who recently went through one. Don't blame yourself though smooth. When you meet som...

Wuss. ;) Actually, I quite like scented candles at times.

Good point about the temples though. That said, the smaller places around my way never seem to be too busy. How about a park near you which doesn't have any sakura?

Why not give her a nice evening at home? :) A relaxing movie, some nice pillows, a nice cup of tea, some scented candles, etc. Scented candles? Early in a reationship (or ever) that's just trying way too hard. That said, the museum type ideas aren't bad. Or you could go to a smaller local temple, t...

In the smoking area at Tokyo Narita No Turansformaru in evidence though, loads of Gundam stuff, but thankfully I already bought my Tf-related gifts in Bs As. Kinda disappointed, I thought there would be a toystore with loads of cool TF stuff like there was in Hong Kong. Anyway, on to Singapore... N...

Thing is though, back in the day Lost Boys was a bit special. Nowadays, post Buffy and whatnot, I don't see how its going to stand out, or avoid looking like a watered-down version of the original, unless one of the vampires has Kiefer Sutherland's charisma . I read somewhere Corey Haim pretty much ...

hmmm, doesn't look bad per se. Doesn't look great either. I'm really hoping that wasn't basically the entire story and that they're holding something of real interest back, otherwise its just a bit pointless making another Hulk movie so soon. I was a bit shocked that they've made a Lost Boys 2, and ...

Well, I don't think there's much you can do about looking a different age. And I am speaking as someone who's had experience of dating older women both back home and here in Japan. The age difference may bother on occasion, but let's face it, every couple has some difference which bothers them at ti...

I meant something different with the franchise, while staying true to the basics. Ok, it wasn't original but still, at least they're making an effort, especially on the predator part. And the I think the point of the movie was the situation was assessed and it was decided that a full colony couldn't...

Well I loved it. Random human fodder with a typical modern day movie stereotype bunch. Very little plot, and Aliens spreading fast with a lone predator on the hunt. Which is what I really liked. I was always more a fan of predator than aliens, and if you think about it, how many hunters would knowin...

The problem right there though, is that it doesn't make for interesting conversation as its a simple fact that Bono is number two (shamelessly stealing from south park there).
